3 A380 Meeting Feedback The following actions were identified to be referred to the Heathrow MAST: 1 HEATHROW AIP CHART. Yellow route indications do not go all the way to the runway, only taxiway. 2 Link 25/6 to be improved with extra paint markings L25 L26 on taxiway as appropriate. New charts need to indicate A380 compliance all the way to the runway. Action for HAL tracked at MAST 3 A to 4 versus 160 to 5. What are the current activities to look at the issue of speed on Final Approach?

5 Runway Incursions September 09 December 09 Date ref Detail CAT SSE 17/ Two vehicles lost on the airfield at night, crossed runway 09R via N5E, without reference to ATC. They were stopped by HAL security in the vicinity of RS1. There were no aircraft active on the airfield at the time of the incident. 19/ Aircraft A erroneously taxied left on ALPHA (S) and caused a runway incursion on 09R at N4E. 22/ A B744 Cargo Flight inbound to Heathrow was be permitted to cross the beginning of Runway 09 Right on its final approach before a preceding departing aircraft, also departing from 09 Right was airborne. 12 Driver Van Run The following actions were identified to be referred to MAST: Review of Low Visibility Information message on BASIS. This should refer to safeguarding instead of LVPs and contain an instruction for Handling Agents to inform drivers who may be operating on the Manoeuvring Area Review use of Wig-Wag at crossing points Identify ways of improving safety when using Back of Stand roads Explore possibility of UHF ATIS for drivers

14 Current Edition AIP Text Pushback Clearances Start-up Procedures General ATC are responsible for clearance delivery and start-up approval as a separate function from Ground Movement Control (GMC). Pilots are warned that start-up approval applies only to those engines which may be started on stand. Pushback approval must be obtained from GMC. the following will be added: 17 Dec 09 Edition During busy periods (normally following disruption), aircraft that are fully ready may be transferred to "Heathrow Planning" prior to GMC. The "Planning" controller will determine the order that start approvals are issued and will issue expected start times accordingly. Pushback approval must be obtained from GMC.

16 AIP Text Conditional Line-Up Clearances 17 Dec 09 Edition Pilots in receipt of a conditional line up clearance on a preceding departing aircraft (for example; ABC123, after the departing Sky Train DC10, line up Runway 27L via N2E ) should remain behind the subject aircraft but may cross the runway holding point (subject to there being no illuminated red stop bar) and enter the runway upon receipt of the clearance. There is no requirement for the subject aircraft to have commenced its take-off roll before entering the runway. Pilots must be aware that there may be a blast hazard as the aircraft on the runway applies power.
17 AIP Text Conditional Line-Up Clearances 17 Dec 09 Edition Pilots in receipt of a conditional line up clearance on a preceding arriving aircraft (for example; ABC123, after the landing Sky Train DC10, line up Runway 27L via N2E ) may cross the runway holding point (subject to there being no illuminated red stop bar) as soon as the landing aircraft has passed the runway entry point.
18 AIP Text Stand Entry Guidance Pilots should not enter an aircraft stand unless the Stand Entry Guidance is illuminated or a marshaller has signalled clearance to proceed. In the event of there being no activated SEG displayed upon approach to the stand, flight crews should contact Ground Movement Control (GMC) to request marshalling assistance.
19 AIP Text Runway Vacation Guidelines Runway Vacation Guidelines Due to the High Intensity Runway Operations at Heathrow it is necessary to ensure pilots adhere to the following guidelines. Aircraft Instructed to hold short of Taxiway Alpha: This means the controller has judged that sufficient final approach spacing exists for the landing aircraft to hold short of Taxiway Alpha possibly infringing the runway, without affecting the following aircraft. In this case the pilot should pull up to the edge of the runway Exit Board/Stop bar, but not enter the taxiway.
