5 What are threat levels? A system created to keep the public informed about the level of threat to the UK from terrorism. The system helps the police and other law enforcement agencies determine how they should respond to, and prepare for a terrorist incident. The threat levels are: critical - an attack is expected imminently severe - an attack is highly likely substantial - an attack is a strong possibility moderate - an attack is possible but not likely low - an attack is unlikely The current UK terrorism threat level is Severe 5

7 MATRA Multi Agency Risk and Threat Assessment Objective: all agencies involved in airport security working together in order to develop more effective, better organised, long term security and to reduce crime. To maintain the economic viability of the airport, whilst providing confidence in a safe and secure environment. 7

9 Training Security Officers are trained to fully comply with UK NASP requirements. All Security Officers are trained to TRANSEC Aviation Security Level 1. Team Supervisors trained to TRANSEC Aviation Security Level 2. All trainers are competent to at least Level 5. Security Supervisors are trained Threat Assessors. All Jet Centre Security/Reception staff complete 40 hours on the job training and this includes 15 hours x- ray screening competency training. Annual refresher training is also a part of the programme.
