Growth at the airports translates into additional jobs, payroll, business expenditures and construction projects, as well as generating additional local and state tax revenues for the region. 3 About Louisville s Airports Louisville International Airport (SDF) Just 10 minutes from downtown, Louisville International Airport is a low-fare airport that draws travelers within a 200-mile radius of the city. Louisville International offers nonstop or connecting service to hundreds of destinations worldwide. Louisville International ranks third in North America and seventh in the world in the total amount of cargo handled as home of UPS s international air-sorting hub. The airport handled more than 5 billion pounds of cargo, freight and mail in Bowman Field Bowman Field, established in 1919, is the longest continuously operating, general aviation airport in the United States. It is conveniently located approximately 5 miles from downtown Louisville. Bowman Field is situated on 426 acres. There are 17 buildings, including the historic art deco Administration Building that was built in 1929.

Welch, Jr. Mayor Greg Fischer Executive Team An 11-member Board of Directors that sets policy, approves the budget and hires the executive director, who serves as the organization s chief executive officer, governs the Authority. The Board is comprised of the Mayor of Louisville, seven mayoral appointees, and three gubernatorial appointees. Board Members James S. As executive director, Miller implements board policies and oversees a staff of about 190 who handle dayto-day operations, maintenance, and administration. Charles T. Skip Miller

5 Position Description Supervises, assigns and directs the work activities of all facilities maintenance supervisors, staff and related contractors. Assists in the selection and training of new hires and monitors staff performance and resolves employee relations issues. Assists the Director of Maintenance in the formulation of annual capital and operational budgets. Serves as the liasion with tenants and contractors on all maintenance, construction and contract projects related to facilities and equipment. Oversees electrical, electronic, HVAC and facilities maintenance and repairs to buildings, equipment and specialized airport systems by the Airport or tentants to ensure complicance with all local, state and federal codes. Coordinates with the Airfield manager joint projects utilizing the staff and skills of both departments. Ensures ongoing compliance with OSHA regulations and Authority policies and procedures. Supervises snow removal crews to ensure best possible surface for aircraft and personnel to operate.

6 Position Requirements Must possess a valid driver s license. Facility Management Certification from International Facility Management Association, Building Owners and Managers International, or other industry recognized association HIGHLY desirable. ACE certification through American Association of Airport Executives desirable, or must obtain within one year of employment. Must have a bachelor s degree from an accredited university in facilities management, property management, construction management, aviation management or related field. Must have 10 years of documented experience as a facilities manager in commercial building settings. Must have five years in a supervisory capacity in electrical, HVAC or plumbing systems.
