3 60-1 CAP Flight Management The practices, procedures and standards in this regulation are Mandatory. Responsibilities of all CAP Personnel regarding CAP flying programs, aircraft and aircrew FAA requirements are Minimum standards In some instances CAP establishes Higher Standards than FAA minimums

4 CAP 60-1 Regulation: Scope CAP 60-1 Applies to ALL CAP aircraft 60-1, 1-1. Aircraft = any Airplane, Glider etc 60-1, 1-3.b. Member Owned or furnished by CAP Corporate Used in a CAP flight activity 60-1 Does not apply to: , 1-1. CAP corporate aircraft flown by CAP-USAF Aircraft released for MX FBO/MX facility Non-CAP member use approved by CAP- USAF/XO Ref: CAPF: 60-1, 1-1, 1-3.b.

6 Prohibited Operations In CAP Aircraft, Don t: Use for Personal Flying Smoke Aerobatic Flight 60-1, 2-1.a-f,l. Spins (except instruction for a flight instructor certificate) Parachute or dropping objects (except to save a life) Formation Flying Night Vision Devices by Pilot Flying, Scanner is OK Hand Prop Start Jump Start from vehicle batteries Charge for Flight Instruction/Checkride

11 Ceiling/Visibility FAR FL 180 Class A - IFR 1000 ft below 5 SM Visibility 1 SM horizontal 1000 ft above Class C, D, E Airspace Class G Above 1,200 AGL 10,000 MSL 3 SM Visibility Class C, D, E Class G - Night 500 ft below 1000 ft above 2000 ft horizontal Class G Day below 1,200 AGL ** Night within ½ mile of Runway 1 SM Visibility Clear of Clouds CAP requires 3 SM visibility on ALL VFR flights unless the PIC is a qualified and current instrument pilot

19 MX Inspections Annual Inspection - 12 Calendar Months 100 Hour Inspection FAR , CAPF 66-1 Exceed up to 10 hours to be Inspected Transponder Inspection 24 Months FAR IFR Flight Requires: Static System+Altimeters Inspected 24 Months FAR

20 Cadets after Aircraft MX Aircraft will NOT carry CAP, ROTC or JROTC Cadets during the first 10 Tach Hours After: 60-1, 2-3.g. Engine Change Major Overhaul Cylinder Replacement Magneto Replacement

33 Safety Pilot Logging Flight Time When Pilot Flying acts as PIC Pilot Flying may Log Pilot In Command Safety Pilot is Required Crew during only SIM IMC Safety Pilot Counts as a Passenger all other Times Pilot Flying must be Current for Landings and IFR (to go IMC) Safety Pilot may Log Second In Command FAR f.2. For Time the Pilot Flying is under Simulated IMC Safety Pilot is Required Crew = Second in Command FAR c.

34 Safety Pilot Logging Flight Time IF Safety Pilot is acting PIC: Both May Log PIC Pilot Flying Logs PIC (As the Sole Manipulator) FAR Pilot Flying can be Non-Current Landings or IFR (Safety Pilot is Acting as PIC) Safety Pilot may Log Pilot In Command (As the PIC) Assumes PIC Duties and Responsibilities for Flight Must be Landing & IFR (For any IMC) Current in Aircraft Is the PIC but Allowing the Pilot in the Left Seat to Fly
