1 Aviation Security Service Dunedin International Airport SAFETY AND SECURITY RULES PLEASE READ PO Box 245 Mosgiel 9053 Phone: Identity Cards (Issued by Aviation Security Service) Persons wishing to access the Security Area of Dunedin Airport must be in possession of an approved identity document Airport Identity Cards are approved identity documents When in a Security Area your airport identity card must be worn on your front outer garment. Your card must be visible at all times. You are only permitted to use your identity card to gain access to, or remain in the Security Area for the purpose of your duties. If entering a Security Area you are asked to produce your identity card for inspection by an authorised person, you must do so. If for some reason you cease to be entitled to hold an identity card, for example you terminate your employment, you must return the card to the Aviation Security Service. This card remains the property of The Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand. Note: Failure to comply with any of the above is an offence against Civil Aviation Rule Part The maximum penalty on summary conviction for offences against this Rule is a fine of $5,000 or an Infringement Fee of $2,000 Remember Wear your identity card on the front outer garment Do not lend it to anyone else to use Your identity card is for the purpose of your work only. Make sure it is current cards have an expiry date If you lose your card report the loss immediately to the Aviation Security Service 1 P a g e

2 Access Cards (Issued by Dunedin International Airport Ltd) Access through the doors to the Security Area is by use of combination lock code or Access Swipe Cards, which are issued by Dunedin International Airport Ltd (DIAL) If your employer requires you to access the Security Area in the course of your work you will need to see DIAL to obtain a swipe card and a combination code. Access cards/ combination codes will only be issued upon application by your employer on your behalf and upon production of a current airport identity card. Your access card or combination code is issued for your use only DO NOT lend it to anyone else Access to Security Areas Do not leave doors, gates or barriers that provide access to Security Areas open, insecure or uncontrolled. Do not open doors for other people to access Security Areas. Failure to comply with any of the above is an offence against Civil Aviation Rule Part The maxium penalty for an offence against this rule is a fine of up to $2,500. Other Rules Only passengers are permitted to purchase goods in airside shops. Personnel who go airside are not permitted to make Duty Free purchases. Doing so contravenes the Customs and Tax Laws and may compromise the Retailers license. All goods going airside must be subject to Security screening. If ou are unsure of your obligations, contact Aviation Security Service on Tailgating through the security access doors is not permitted. All personnel with swipe cards must individually swipe through. Personnel may, where necessary for work purposes, escort employees/contractors etc through security doors when they have temporary Airport Identity Cards. Warning/Caution Breach of any of these fundamental rules could result in the withdrawal of your Airport Identity Card and Access card. As well prosecution in court could follow. 2 P a g e

4 Driving and Vehicle Authorisation If, in the course of your work, you are required to drive a motor vehicle airside into the Security Areas of the Airport then you will be required to seek additional authorisation from DIAL Enquiries to DIAL regarding Access Swipe Cards/and or driving permits can be made by telephoning DIAL administration on General Security As an airport employee you have a part to play in the overall security If you see someone who arouses your suspicion report it If you see an unattended bag that arouses your suspicion report it If in a security area you see someone who is not displaying an airport identity card challenge that person If you are asked to take something through to the Security Area to deliver to another person, DO NOT and report the matter. General Safety Make sure you are highly visible when working on the apron or movement area Wear your safety reflectorized vest Wear approved hearing protectors when airside When driving on the apron or movement areas use designated roads where applicable and comply with the rules or bylaws of DIAL Do not leave your vehicle or equipment unattended airside unless parked in a designated parking area You can call the following numbers to report any of these matters.
