4 Augmentation of Cabin Crew and In Flight Rest Augmented Cabin Crews are limited to a single sector (scheduled). Augmented Cabin Crews are required when: o the scheduled flight time in a single duty period is greater than 11:00, or o the FDP is scheduled to exceed 15:00 The Cabin Crew Compliment is increased by 50 % above the Certified Standard Cabin Crew for a particular aircraft configuaration and type. Each Cabin Crew member will be provided an inflight rest period of no less than ½ the flight time above 11:00, upto a maximum of 4:00. Scheduled above 16:00 or Scheduled FDP above 18:00 are ULR operations and may have different augmentation requirements, depending on specific approvals from the DGCA. The division of inflight duty and inflight rest must be balanced amongst all Cabin CMs, and should be specified in the operations manual. An inflight rest period is only applied during cruise, not during the take-off or landing phases of a flight. Each Flight is to be operated by a minimum crew complement of adequate number of cabin crew to man all the floor level exits and one additional CCIC to cater for Inflight rest. At least one CCIC shall be on duty at all the times during flight. This requirement supersedes the provisions contained in Para 3.3 of CAR, Section 7, Series M, Part 1.

6 SBY Not Assigned FDP The Max Time a CM may be assigned to SBY is 8:00. A CM assigned to SBY without a callout to FDP must be given a minimum rest period of 10:00. 25% of the time on SBY is applied towards the Cumulative Duty Limits. ASB Not Assigned FDP The Max Time a CM may be assigned to SBY is 8:00. A CM assigned to SBY without a callout to FDP must be given a minimum rest period of 10:00. All time on ASB is applied towards the Cumulative Duty Limits. Standby (SBY) Limits SBY Assigned FDP Time on Standby is NOT applied towards the Daily FDP Limits. 25% of the time on SBY is applied towards the Cumulative Duty Limits. Airport Standby (ASB) Limits ASB Assigned FDP Time on ASB is applied towards the Daily FDP Limits in accordance with Table H. FDP starts at ASB Start time. 7 Consecutive Night Duties A series of Consecutive Night Duties (CND) is defined as two FDP s which overlap any portion of the time from 01:00 to 05:00, on consecutive occurrences of the span of time from 01:00 to 05:00. A series of CND begins at report of the 1st FDP the overlaps any portion of the time from 01:00 to 05:00. A series of CND ends at release of the 2nd FDP the overlaps any portion of the time from 01:00 to 05:00. There must be no less than 7 calendar days from the end of a preceding series of CND to the start of the next series of CND. The maximum number of CND s in any series is two (2).

8 Extended FDP and Limitations A FDP is deemed to be extended whenever the following conditions exist: o The maximum Actual in a FDP may be extended by 1:30, and the Actual FDP may be extended by 5:00. o Only 1 extra landing is permitted above the scheduled limit in the case of a diversion, with no more than 2 extra landings in any 30 day period. o The cumulative Limits in 6.2 may be extended to the values in Table I: Time Span Limit 7 Consecutive Days 43:00 28 Consecutive Days 118: Consecutive Days 1003:00 Table I o The cumulative Duty Time Limits in 6.3 may be extended to the values in Table J: Time Span Duty Limit 7 Consecutive Days 75:00 28 Consecutive Days 220:00 Table J

9 Extended FDP and Limitations Whenever the flight duty period gets extended, the rest period shall be pro-rata increased by twice the amount of extended time of flight duty period. PIC Approvals of Extension: Subject to the maximum limit of extension of FDP shall be decided between PIC and Head of Operations of operator. PIC in consultation with the other crew members and cabin crew will convey their willingness (or consent) to the Head of Operations for operating the flight. The PIC will submit the report to Head of Operations who will file to DGCA along with his comments.

Non operating crew member Definitions Definition Any task that cabin crew members are required by the operator to perform, including, e.g., flight duty, administrative work, training, positioning and standby when it is likely to induce fatigue. A period which starts when a cabin crew member is required by an operator to report for, or to commence a duty and ends when that person is free from all duties. A physiological state of reduced mental or physical performance capability resulting from sleep loss or extended wakefulness, circadian phase, or workload (mental and/or physical activity) that can impair a crew member s alertness and ability to safely operate an aircraft or perform safety related duties. A period which commences when a cabin crew member is required to report for duty that includes a flight or a series of flights and which finishes when aeroplane finally comes to a rest and the engines are shut down at the end of the last flight on which he/she is a crew member. The total time from the moment an aeroplane first moves for the purpose of taking off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight. Note: Flight time as here defined is synonymous with the term block to block time or chock to chock time in general usage which is measured from the time an aeroplane first moves for the purpose of taking off until it finally stops at the end of the flight. The location nominated by the operator to the crew member from where the crew member normally starts and ends a flight duty or a series of flight duty periods. A period from 0200 to 0600 local time. Any country whose standard time falls within a band of 3 hours (+1:30 hours on either side of India) i.e. countries covered in the standard time zone band of UTC+4 to UTC+7.

11 Definitions Term Definition Positioning. The transferring of a non-operating crew member from place to place at the behest of the operator. Reporting time. The time at which cabin crew member is required by an operator to report for duty. Note: For the purpose of reporting time, the operator shall maintain a record. Rest Period. An uninterrupted and defined period of time during which a crew member is free from all duties. Split Duty (Break) A period free of all duties, which counts as duty, being less than a rest period. Standby. It is a defined period of time during which a cabin crew member is required by the operator to be available to receive an assignment for a specific duty without an intervening rest period. Ultra Long Range (ULR) Continuous non-stop flights between the specific city pairs having a flight time of over 16 hours Operations. and duty periods upto 22 hrs. Unforeseen An unplanned event, such as unforeseen weather, equipment malfunction, diversions due to operational medical reasons or air traffic delay that is beyond the control of the operator. circumstance.

12 Term Window of Circadian Low (WOCL) Definitions Definition WOCL is best estimated by the hours between 0200 and 0600 for individuals adapted to a usual day-wake/ night sleep schedule. This estimate of the window is calculated from scientific data on the circadian low of performance, alertness, subject report (i.e., peak fatigue) and body temperature. (i) For flight duty periods that cross 3 or fewer time zones, the window of circadian low is estimated to be 0200 to 0600 home-base/ domicile time. (ii) For flight duty periods beyond 3 or more time zones, the window of circadian low is estimated to be 0200 to 0600 home-base/ domicile time for the first 48 hours only. (iii) For a crew member remaining more than 48 hours away from home-base/domicile time, the window of circadian low is estimated to be 0200 to 0600 referred to local time at the point of departure.
