ARRIVAL TO MALAYSIA The main gateway to Malaysia is through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) located in Sepang, approximately 50 km from Kuala Lumpur. Travelling time by car from the airport to Kuala Lumpur is approximately one hour. A service that is highly recommended is the Express Rail Link (ERL), which will transfer the delegates from KLIA to KL Sentral Station in Kuala Lumpur in 28 minutes. A one-way ticket costs RM 35 per adult and RM 15 per child. From KL Sentral Station, the delegates can take a taxi to the respective hotel. CLIMATE AND CLOTHING Malaysia has an equatorial climate with temperatures throughout the year range from 32 0 C during the day to 22 0 C during the night. Rainfall is common throughout the year, averaging 200 cm to 250 cm a year. CREDIT CARDS American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, Mastercard, Visa and some other credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops. CURRENCY The Malaysian Ringgit is the currency of Malaysia. The currency code for Ringgits is MYR, and the currency symbol is RM. 4

MEAL FACILITIES A variety of restaurants and cafes are available at, and in the vicinity of the meeting place. PASSPORT, VISA AND VACCINATION Visitors to Malaysia must be in possession of a valid passport or travel document with a minimum validity of six months beyond the intended visiting period. 5

For overnight service there are always a few pharmacies in every district. SHOPPING Streets of gold The main shopping district in Kuala Lumpur is known as Bukit Bintang (or, the Golden Triangle), and is home to its very own rail system and some of the best malls in Kuala Lumpur. Everything is within walking distance of everything else, but with literally thousands of stores, you'll need a few days to get through it all. Here are top picks for making the most of the area: PAVILION Pavilion's eight levels are home to everything from department stores like Tangs and Parkson; couture stores like Prada, Bulgari, Gucci and YSL; and trend-savvy stores like Pull and Bear, Topshop and Forever 21. 7 CHINATOWN Petaling Street Chinatown consists of stall after stall of trinkets and souvenirs. CENTRAL MARKET Jalan Hang Kasturi This is a popular tourist destination. SURIA KLCC Petronas twin towers The big draw card of this centre is that it's at the foot of the stunning Petronas Twin Towers (and they are stunning - well worth a visit, especially at night). This centre is home to a huge food court, Malaysia's only branch of Kinokuniya, and a weekend post office. PASAR MALAM Translated literally to "night market", Pasar Malams are held on various nights during the week in local neighborhoods. Brimming with local food and bargain wares. SMOKING Smoking is only allowed in specific designated areas. TELEPHONES Malaysia has adopted the GSM (Global System for Mobilephones). Local prepaid service packages like DiGi, Hotlink, X-Pacs, are economical and easily available from local cell phone providers Maxis, Celcom, DiGi and Telekom Malaysia. Prepaid mobile subscribers are required to register with the chosen network. TIME ZONE The time zone in Malaysia is GMT/UTC +8. TIPPING Tipping should be at your own discretion and for good service only. As a guide, add 10 % to a restaurant bill. 7
