1 OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES (the Contest Rules ) Staples Scratch and Win Contest (the Contest ) THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO CANADIAN RESIDENTS ONLY AND IS GOVERNED BY CANADIAN LAW. OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The Contest is open to all residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, except employees (and those with whom such employees are domiciled) or agents of Staples Canada Incorporated ("Sponsor"), all Staples stores across Canada ("Stores"), and their advertising and promotional agencies. THE CONTEST PERIOD: IN STORE: The contest begins on April 6, 2018 at store opening and will operate until April 8, 2018, at store closing (the "Contest Period ) in all participating Staples stores across Canada. OBTAINING A SCRATCH CARD: Participants will receive one (1) Scratch Card (the Scratch Card ). The Scratch Card will be handed out at the door at participating Stores during the Contest Period, while supplies last. Limit one (1) Scratch Card per person during the Contest Period. Limit one prize per person. Approximately 522,000 Scratch Cards are available for distribution during the Contest Period. SCRATCH AND WIN IN-STORE PRIZES Each Scratch Card contains one (1) scratch section (hereafter Scratch ) that, when uncovered, may reveal one of the following potential prizes (the Prizes ): To become a potential winner, participants must uncover the Scratch area to reveal a Prize.

Excludes Bose products & prior purchases Coupon must be presented to cashier at time of purchase The approximate retail value of AIR MILES Reward Miles prize depends on the chosen method of redemption, available Reward options at the time of redemption, and the set preference between AIR MILES Cash and AIR MILES Dream balances. If redeemed with AIR MILES Cash, 95 Cash Miles can be used in-store for $10 towards purchases at participating AIR MILES Partners or 95 Cash Miles can be used online for evouchers for $10 worth of value at participating Reward Partners. If redeemed for flights (1200 Reward Mile minimum required for flight redemption), value depends on destination chosen, date of travel and use of multiple carriers or suppliers. For example, one return economy flight in low season departure from Toronto, Ontario to Winnipeg, Manitoba is 2000 AIR MILES Reward Miles and has an approximate value of $ (Canadian)

3 excluding taxes. Winner must pay applicable taxes, related transportation fees, governmental levies, excess baggage and other non-ticket costs. The value of AIR MILES Reward Miles used for non-flight Reward options depends on Reward options in effect at the time of redemption. AIR MILES Reward Miles prize is subject to the terms and conditions of the AIR MILES Reward Program as amended from time to time. AIR MILES Reward Miles prize is not transferable or convertible to cash and must be accepted as awarded. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following general conditions apply to the Prizes: (i) Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); (ii) no substitutions except at Sponsor s option; (iii) Sponsor reserves the right at any time to substitute the Prize or a component thereof for any reason with a prize or prize component(s) of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, but solely at the Sponsor s sole discretion, a cash award; (iv) colour and other specifics of the Prize will be at the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor and subject to availability; (v) manufacturer s standard warranty applies to the Prize. The AIR MILES Reward Miles will be credited to the selected winner s AIR MILES Collector Account. If you are not an AIR MILES Collector, you can enroll in the AIR MILES Reward Program by visiting airmiles.ca. It is free to become and AIR MILES Collector. By enrolling to become an AIR MILES Collector you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the AIR MILES Reward Program as amended from time to time. The number of Prizes and approximate odds of winning are those available at the outset of the Contest. Total number of Prizes available to be won diminishes as prizes are awarded. No substitutions will be allowed. All approximate values outlined in these Contest Rules represent the approximate value of each prize on February 20, 2018 and are subject to fluctuation. REDEMPTION INSTRUCTIONS: If participants of the Contest receive a 5-15% off discount or 100 AIR MILES Reward Miles prize, they can redeem by presenting their scratched Scratch Card, along with an eligible purchase of $50 or more before tax to the Store cashier of the Staples store during the Contest Period. Maximum one (1) discount may be used per Store visit. If participants scratch and reveal Free Shredding or Free Liquid Armor. ARV prize, they are to visit their local store to claim the prize with a minimum $50 before tax purchase before store closing, April 20, If participants scratch and reveal an Electronics prize they must go online to staples.ca/scratchandwin to download the prize claim form. Upon completing the prize claim form with their name, address, phone numberand correct answer to the skill-testing question, participants must mail the completed form in an envelope with sufficient postage, postdated no later than May 8, 2018 to Denisa Stamkovska, Staples Scratch and Win Contest, c/o DATACM, 80 Ambassador Drive, Mississauga, Ontario L5T 2Y9. Prize will be delivered to the winner within 6-8 weeks of receipt of prize claim form and verification of correct answer to skill-testing question and proof of age and identity GENERAL CONDITIONS:

4 This contest is subject to all federal, provincial, and municipal laws. Void where prohibited. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions may be made except at Sponsor's discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize for another prize of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into except with winners and potential winners. Sponsor is the sole judge on all matters relating to this Contest and its decisions shall be final and binding. THE SPONSOR, THE STORES, LOYALTYONE, CO., THE PRIZE SPONSORS AND THEIR ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONAL AGENCIES AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS AND EMPLOYEES COLLECTIVELY ( RELEASEES ) SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY A WINNER IN THE EVENT IT IS SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THE WINNER HAS DEPARTED FROM OR NOT FULLY COMPLIED WITH ANY OF THE CONTEST RULES If due to printing, production, online, internet, computer or other error of any kind, more Prizes are claimed than intended to be distributed or awarded according to these Rules, then, in addition to having the right to terminate the Contest immediately, subject only to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (the Régie ) in Quebec, the Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion (subject only to the approval of the Régie in Quebec), to rescind invalid prize claims, conduct a random draw from amongst all eligible prize claimants in order to award the correct number of Prizes. In no event will the Sponsors be liable for more than the number of Prizes as stated in these Rules. The total number of Prizes available to be won will decrease as Prizes are claimed and/or forfeited throughout the Contest Period. All potential winners will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid in order to win their prize. To be eligible to win an Electronics prize, individuals selected for the prize must also agree to all of the following, amongst other things, in the Release Form prepared by the Sponsor: (i) that they confirm their agreement to and conformity with these Contest Rules; (ii) that they accept the prize as awarded; (iii) that they agree to the use of their name, likeness, comments about the contest, and city of residence, by the Sponsor. If a selected entrant, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor: (a) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question; (b) cannot accept a prize as awarded for any reason; (c) fails to provide proof of age and identity on request; (d) is found to have violated the Contest Rules or otherwise does not meet all Contest conditions; and/or (e) fails to complete and return the required declaration and release, then he/she may be disqualified (and will forfeit all rights to the prize), in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. None of the Releasees shall be responsible for any event that may force the Contest to cease either temporarily or permanently. Nor shall they be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to the prizes awarded in this contest. The Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux ("RACJ") in Quebec, to modify, suspend or withdraw this Contest at any time without prior notification. By participating, participants agree that none of the Releasees will not be responsible for any event that may cause the Contest to cease operations either temporarily or permanently, including but not limited to any printing problem, electronic network, computer problem or any other technical or human error of any kind that makes continuation of the Contest not feasible in Sponsor s sole discretion. For Quebec residents: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation

5 respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these English Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related material or the French Contest Rules, the terms and conditions of these English Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law.
