1 February 2013 MyTransit We re listening: service changes to help get you where you re going More than 40 YRT / Viva service changes will take effect Sunday, February 24. Schedule and frequency adjustments will better reflect actual travel times, meet customer demand and improve connections with key destinations and transit hubs. Highlights of service changes include: > > Improved Viva blue Sunday / Holiday frequency between Bernard Terminal and Finch GO Bus Terminal > > Increased Route 22 / 22A - King City weekday frequency for service between the Town of Newmarket and York University > > Adjustments to trips serving high schools to meet bell times See the back page for a complete list of affected routes. Full details and new schedules are available on the Service Changes page at yrt.ca Restructuring of Route 84 will reflect changes in community YRT / Viva will be restructuring Route 84A / C Oak Ridges to accommodate the changing needs and development of the Oak Ridges community in the Town of Richmond Hill. Effective February 24, Route 84A / C will become Route 84 Oak Ridges and will operate Mondays through Saturdays. Service frequency will be improved and Dial-a-Ride service will be adjusted. 3 Save more with your PRESTO card YRT / Viva PRESTO card users already know the advantages of having this electronic fare card. With a PRESTO card, you don t have to worry about buying tickets or having the correct change to ride. Your YRT / Viva fare is automatically calculated and deducted from your PRESTO account with just a tap of your card. PRESTO card users also pay YRT / Viva ticket prices, saving at least 75 cents per trip versus paying cash: PRESTO* Adult Student Senior/Child 1 ZONE $ 3.00 $ 2.30 $ 1.85 * Prices listed are for one zone only. For travel through fare zone boundaries, select zone upgrade button and tap card. If you re travelling to or from a GO Train station, use your PRESTO card and the appropriate fares will be automatically calculated and deducted. Federal tax credit for public transit The Government of Canada offers individual Canadians a non-refundable tax credit to help cover the cost of public transit. To claim your public transit tax credit, keep your monthly pass for each month claimed, or four consecutive GTA Weekly Passes. The value of each pass is printed on the front. For PRESTO card users, you can apply for the public transit tax credit if: > > Your PRESTO card is registered > > After you have registered your card, you have taken at least 32 one-way trips on a single transit system within any four-week period At tax time, log into your online PRESTO account to access and print your transit usage report. Your transit usage is reported weekly by transit agencies. Please note that YRT / Viva is not responsible for the replacement of lost passes or PRESTO cards. 4 Ride to GO for just 75 cents YRT / Viva s Ride to GO program offers you convenient and affordable travel to and from GO Train stations in York Region for just 75 cents per trip. Ride to GO is available on all YRT / Viva and contracted TTC routes in York Region travelling to and from a GO Train station, including YRT GO Shuttles (200 series routes). YRT GO Shuttles are scheduled to meet arriving GO Trains so you ll never miss your connection. Use your PRESTO card and your Ride to GO fare will be automatically calculated and deducted. 5 Ride Route 59 to The ROC YRT / Viva operates Route 59 The ROC every Friday, Saturday and Sunday / Holiday to accommodate customers travelling to the Recreational Outdoor Campus (The ROC) in the Town of Georgina, providing service to Keswick, Sutton and Pefferlaw. On Fridays and Saturdays, Route 59 connects with select Route 51 trips at Keswick Marketplace. Seasonal service for Route 59 runs until March 17.
