A trained and competent person designated by the operator who, by visual observation of the RPA, assists the remote pilot in the safe conduct of the flight means an operation below 400 ft above surface in which an observer, maintains direct and unaided visual contact with the remotely piloted aircraft at a distance not exceeding 1000 m from the pilot; means an operation within 500 m of the remote pilot and below the height of the highest obstacle within 300 m of the RPA, in which the remote pilot maintains direct unaided visual contact with the RPA to manage its flight and meet separation and collision avoidance responsibilities; means an operation below 400 feet above surface in which the remote pilot, maintains direct and unaided visual contact with the RPA at a distance not exceeding 500 m. 3 AND ASLC APPLICATION AND APPROVAL PROCESS Required Licenses: Registered RPAS RPL - RPAS Pilot Licence (for the pilot) ASL - Air Services Licence (from Department of Transport) RLA - RPAS Letter of Approval (for each drone) ROC ( Approved) Remote Operator Certificate (approved operations manual) Additional Requirements: Restricted Radio Licence (also known as Restricted Certificate of Radiotelephony - Aeronautical). Online theory exam at CAA as well as a practical exam with a certified examiner Aviation Medical Certificate (class 4 or higher) English Language Proficiency Certificate RPL pilot training (practical and theory training for RPAS in line with Part 101) RPAS requirements (registration marks, ID plate, strobe lights, transponder, etc) RPAS Flight Manual RPAS technical description RPAS Maintenance Program and Maintenance Manual (generated by operator / manufacturer) Operations Manual (generated by the operator). Security Manual Security Awareness training for all post holders - 1 day course SMS - Safety Management System for Safety Officer QMS - Quality Management System for Quality Manager ICASA Type Approval for all RF (radio frequency) equipment Fire Extinguisher First Aid Kit Registered Company, at least 75% SA owned. BBBEE certificate Liability Insurance cover (aviation insurance recommended) Criminal record checks and background checks of all staff July 2016 Page 3 of 5

Phase 4 Once phases up to phase 3 have been finalised the will schedule an inspection / audit of the operation which will also involve a demonstration flight Phase 5 Issue the ROC FURTHER ACTIONS Upkeep of ROC Client Implement and sustain the procedures as described in the Operations Manual. The ROC is valid for 12 and subject to annual renewal audit and applicable fees ZAR3710 & fee of ZAR3190 for approval of Operations Manual & ZAR640 per RPAS.
