Airlines and Operations Revenue Data Collection And other technology efficiencies that realize cost savings and increased revenues for airport operators, airlines, and ground service organizations at the airport
Data Collection and Revenue Opportunities Available data flight data, license plate data, duplicate sources, capacity data, etc. How can it be shared? How can it be used? Increase revenues by stemming under-reporting Reconcile self-reporting with available data Automated billing do it yourself? Targeted advertising to increase revenues? Other discussions at this conference that address these topics Examples in this session to illustrate
Technology as an enabler for situational awareness also enhances revenue
Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) at Euro Control Improved efficiencies and situational awareness through sharing of data amongst ATM, airlines, airports, and ground service companies Successful implementations with 2 yr ROIs
Implementations Field trials at 5 major European airports 2 airports (Brussels and Munich) are fully implemented By end of 2011, full implementation is targeted for: Amsterdam Schiphol, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Paris CDG, Prague, Zurich
Expected Results Trials have shown improvement in stand and gate allocation, resource management, and slot adherence. = Reduction in costs, delays and passenger complaints on displayed flight information. Additional expectations include better fuel efficiencies for aircraft and lower costs for ground handlers
Statement from Dr Michael Kerkloh, CEO of Munich Airport Munich is the only airport in Europe that has been implementing Airport Collaborative Decision Making in its regular operations since This networking of the airport, airlines, ground handling, handling agents and air traffic control has enabled us to optimise and accelerate our operational processes in the area of aircraft handling. Among the benefits are substantially reduced delays between the landing and departure of aircraft and a decrease by approximately one third in waiting times spent on the ground with engines running. Through improved resource planning, all parties involved save costs. The environment also benefits from significantly lower emissions.
Surface Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) Foundations at NextGen Improve individual and shared situational awareness to manage arrivals and departures Tactically manage surface movement and departure queues Improve analysis of surface operations Improve efficiencies in operations with services organizations

Questions for the FAA from Airport Management When is Surface Collaborative Decision Making coming to my airport? How can we work together to improve situational awareness at my airport? The answer to these questions will impact Airport IT The solutions provided will increase airport efficiencies and provide cost benefits to airport operators, ground service organizations, and airlines
How does this increase revenues? Airlines: Shorter turn times Airlines: Less fuel burn Airports: More efficient usage of resources Airports: More landing fees more available slots (think JFK and SAN!) Ground handlers: More efficient staffing And as a bonus: Fewer missed flights for passengers
Isn t this a long way off? Why do I need to know this now? Get ready Be aware of the initiative Plan accordingly And as everyone knows
