CCAR Part 21 CCAR 21-R3, issued in 1990, 3 rd Amended in reporting of failures, malfunctions, and defects The design approval holder must report information related to failures, malfunctions and defects of products and parts. The design approval holder must report any quality defect of products and parts. 4

CCAR Part 21 NPA(Notice of Proposed Amendment)of CCAR 21 R reporting of failures, malfunctions, and defects The design approval holder should have a system to collect, report, investigate and analyses information related to failures, malfunctions and defects of products and parts. The system shall be made available to related operators of the product, part or appliance. 5

8 Content of AC General Applicability A. The holder of a type-certificate, restricted typecertificate, supplemental type-certificate of transport category airplane (weight over 5700kg) or rotorcraft (weight over 3180kg) shall have a continued airworthiness system. B. Other design approval holders may reference this AC 8
