TG PILOT APTITUDE & CIVIL AVIATION PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS GUIDANCE The TG pilot recruitment process involves members of the THAI Pilot Selection Committee and the Scandinavian Institute of Aviation Psychology (SIAP) who are profoundly experienced in assessing the applicants qualifications for the job. The prime recruitment target is to select the suitable applicants possessing learning ability to fly the aircraft under normal and critical circumstances, and airmanship potentiality to respond to THAI highest priority - flight safety and security. 5. RECOMMENDATION The applicant may acquire adequate knowledge of a pilot career prior to the application by reading books and magazines or access to web-sites that focus or provide information on aviation. One significant tip is that the applicant analyzes his reasons for wanting to become a pilot. Extensive preparations and training for the aptitude test are neither required nor recommended as the tests will never re-appear in the same or alike versions. Preparations might perhaps reduce the level of performance. Experienced members of the selection team have revealed information that applicants who have studied and practiced the aptitude test before taking the actual aptitude test are unlikely to pass the test due to scores differences between paper examinations and real performance. The best preparations are to exercise a good command of English and to be ready to take the tests with a positive frame of mind and a healthy attitude. Page 10 of 10
