1/23/10 1:38 AM RADIO INTERVIEW Angel Flight 44 featured on KJSL Radio's "Quest for Character". Shows are all CST zone. More Info >>>>> Help keep us flying!
1/23/10 1:40 AM Angel Flight 44 is not affiliated with the Angel Flight medical airtransportation ministries in the United States and elsewhere. About AF44 Angel Flight 44 (AF44) was born out of the catastrophes of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita that struck the United States in late 2005, AF44 is primarily dedicated to providing additional aviation support to and other Christian humanitarian organizations such as, for the purpose of disaster relief efforts. Disaster Relief The story of our ministry s birth is detailed in the pages of the book Angel Flight 44. The disaster relief missions detailed therein illustrate the fact that sometimes a need arises that requires airborne assets in order to succeed in relief efforts. We know from the Bible that more of these storms, earthquakes, and tsunamis are coming and we want to be ready to help provide the aviation support necessary for those efforts. To do this, of course, we will continue to acquire the appropriate aircraft, crews, and support logistics. This process has begun, and with the support of friends and partners, it will develop fully into the aviation support ministry that these humanitarian organizations need in a time of crisis. Future Expansion As is described in the book, Angel Flight 44, our vision for the future also includes: Small training squadron Ready reserve of pilots Variety of aircraft Team of mechanics An inventoried aviation database of assets (aircraft, pilots, mechanics, etc.) from around the country NOTE: These future components are not in place yet. However, as Angel Flight 44 continues to gather partners and grow financially, we will build the necessary foundation. Once the key personnel, aircraft, facilities, and strategic partnerships are fully in place, the next step will be to begin adding the above supporting aviation components. (Pilots and other aviation personnel who wish to be updated concerning the development of these future phases should sign up for the Aviator s Newsletter from Angel Flight 44.)

1/23/10 1:41 AM Current Project Super DC-3 Flight Inspection Angel Flight 44 s current priority project is preparing the Douglas DC3-S for the coming hurricane season and other potential humanitarian needs. The official hurricane season for the Atlantic Ocean begins June 1st, 2007, and runs until November 30th. Moreover, this year s severe drought conditions over much of the continental United States poses other potential humanitarian needs from wildfires, tornados and earthquakes to mention a few. Nevertheless, whenever or wherever a need arises for airlifted supplies, Angel Flight 44 will be ready to respond with your help. For those of you who have read the book entitled Angel Flight 44, you will remember the tedious work that Glen and his then-74-year old friend T.W. had to accomplish in order for the aircraft to be ready for flight missions when Hurricane Katrina hit. At the time, the two had no idea what they were preparing the aircraft to do. This time, the mission of Angel Flight 44 is already clearly established, giving those of us inspired to become partners with this new ministry our own marching orders today. The Super Gooney DC3-S is due for another annual C-Check in order to satisfy FAA requirements for flight. Although not as intensive as Glen s original overhaul of the aircraft, this inspection still requires de-cowling the engines, pulling all floorboards, recertifying the transponder, and checking all aircraft systems. Altogether, this will take between 600 and 800 man-hours to complete, at an estimated cost of $30,000 for the project. However, it will be much easier this time because Glen will doing it with help of a team of mechanics and the friends and partners of the newly birthed Angel Flight 44 ministry. Please prayerfully consider a single contribution toward this specific project. To further support Angel Flight 44 in its development and ongoing operations, please consider also becoming a monthly partner as well. The contributions link provides information about both options. Again, thank you for teaming up with the ministry of Angel Flight 44. Help keep us flying! Page 1 of 2

1/23/10 1:37 AM Angel Flight 44 - The Book Angel Flight 44: The True Story of Two Dedicated Pilots, a 60-Year- Old Airplane, and the Amazing Hurricane Katrina Mission That Birthed a New Aviation Ministry By Glen Hyde and Rich Vermillion History is filled with stories of adventure. This account, however, also includes the unmistakable presence of the hand of God. The marvelous adventure of humanitarian relief that pilot Glen Hyde and copilot Denny Ghiringhelli experienced is a remarkable tale of mercy in the face of catastrophe, and the love of God expressed through His supernatural intervention. Two world-renowned ministries partnered with a veteran aviator and his Douglas Super DC-3, an American Airlines 767 captain, numerous companies, and a storm-wearied pastor in Slidell, Louisiana, to obey a call from God to help hurting people. However, this relief mission not only saved many hurricane victims it forever changed the lives of the people who conducted it. The numerous testimonies of this adventure have already profoundly impacted the hundreds of thousands who have heard them. Now that they have been collected then within this book, these stories should similarly impact you. (This book is available in both hardback and paperback editions. Purchase your copy today at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.)

1/23/10 1:43 AM FAQs Is Angel Flight 44 affiliated with the pre-existing Angel Flight medical airtransportation organizations? No, we are not. We fully endorse the spirit and missions of those organizations, but the mission of Angel Flight 44 is different. Please read our About page for more about AF44. How can I purchase a copy of the book, Angel Flight 44? You can purchase your copy directly from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Where did the 44 come from in the name, Angel Flight 44? Every airplane in the United States has an aircraft registration number displayed on the tail section of the aircraft. This tail number is issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and identifies the airplane in a similar way to how a license plate identifies a car. Glen Hyde s Douglas Super DC-3 is the orginal aircraft of the Angel Flight 44 ministry. It has the tail number N44GH, and so, that is where the 44 came from. How can I volunteer my time for AF44 missions? We are working to establish an online database for registering volunteers. Currently, the best way to stay informed is to sign up for our newsletter to receive notice of volunteer opportunities. How can I help financially support AF44? For individuals, you can consider giving either a special single contribution, or becoming a monthly supporter. Corporations and ministries are also very welcome to partner with us. Visit our donation page for more information about all of these options. Does AF44 accept equipment/aircraft donations? Yes. As an auxiliary of KCM, Angel Flight 44 shares its 501(c)3 not-for-profit status. This allows us to accept donations from individuals, corporations, and other entities, while offering them significant tax benefits in the process. Please use the online contact form to inform us of your intended gift. We will contact you to determine if it is applicable to our operation, and if accepted, to make appropriate arrangements to receive your donation. Can I sign up to be a ready reserve pilot for Angel Flight 44? We will be notifying pilots who have subscribed to our Aviator s Newsletter when that program is launched. Who do I contact regarding media appearances/speaking engagements for Glen Hyde and/or Rich Vermillion (the authors of the book, Angel Flight 44)? Visit the contact page of Paradigm Seed Publisher s website to request more information.
