Where unique experience creates outstanding ATM expertise, products and services the Swedish ATM systems expert for more than 25 years

Where unique experience creates outstanding ATM expertise, products and services Throughout the world, Civil Aviation Administrations (CAAs) continually struggle to cope with the pressures of increasing air traffic. This is not helped by the fact that budgets are often limited and few can afford to invest in a totally new Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. Furthermore, CAAs are cautious about adopting totally new systems due to the significant potential risks involved. In recognition of this issue, we at Si ATM have developed a modular, platform independent and cost effective ATC concept that is able to meet the requirements of CAAs. And our Si ATM-developed ATC systems have been in operational use for a considerable period of time at airports in Sweden, Russia, Latvia and Bahrain. The Swedish Si ATM systems are based on 25 years of expertise Si ATM is based in Sundbyberg, which is in the Greater Stockholm region of Sweden. For over 25 years, we have systematically focused on activities across the ATM area and during this time we have continually enhanced our system developments. Consequently, we are perfectly positioned to deliver the most advanced ATC systems to CAAs throughout the world. The Si ATM ATC concept will provide you with... step-by-step upgrading of systems to a state-of-the-art level with minimal interference to the ongoing daily operations. a quick development phase by reusing software. future-proof investments due to platform independence. cost efficiency through the reuse of systems, quick development phase and platform independence. phased implementation methods that will help prevent delays, rising costs, temporary solutions and dead ends. our commitment to involve your specialists and working controllers in all phases of the project.

ATC building blocks The Si ATM system concept is essentially a set of reusable system building blocks facilitating step-by-step substitution of obsolete technology. This means that systems can be upgraded to achieve state-of-the-art performance levels without the need for dramatic changes at any stage. Our ready-made software modules for radar presentation, flight data processing and other necessary ATM functions can be combined with your specific applications, as required. Rapid prototyping where we involve you Our strategy of reusing software means that we can deliver a quick development phase that is undertaken with the needs of the working controller at the forefront of our minds. We use rapid prototyping methods to create a man-machine interface that closely corresponds to the final version. And our success comes through our commitment to involve your specialists and working controllers in all phases of the project. Rely on our considerable knowledge of ATC operations At Si ATM, we fully understand the entire chain of information processing from the smallest component to the controller s decision. This enables us to implement our system on a step-by-step basis and consequently ongoing operations will not be adversely affected. Over the years, we have gained a deep understanding of how work is performed in towers, terminal centres and area control centres. The reality is that when developing modem automated systems, knowledge of conventions and traditions of Air Traffic Control is critical and this is why we have a number of employees who previously worked as controllers. Quality Assurance Si ATM fully recognises the significance of an organised Quality Assurance (QA) activity to enable the successful design, production and operation of complicated automated electronic systems. Therefore, we are certified according to ISO 9001:2000 and have a quality system in operation that is well adapted to the development, production and operation of such complex computerised systems as ATM systems.

Si ATM s portfolio Si ATM s activities are focuced completely on Air Traffic Management related products and services. We hold extensive experience in Air Traffic Management and deliver the following advanced ATM products and services within the framework of the Si ATM System Concept, all products verified and in operational use: Si ATM s long experience in air traffic control ranges from individual airport installations to nation-wide turnkey systems. Our services and products are characterised by In-depth expert knowledge Flexibility and adaptability Standardised methods certified by ISO 9001:2000 Competitive prices Future-proof investments User involvement Supplier commitment ATMSys, an Air Traffic Control system for En-route, Approach and Tower Control. ATCSim, a high fidelity simulator for advanced ATC training. BasSim, an ATC simulator for basic operational training. TSim, a 3-D Tower simulator. CNSATMProt, a test and prototyping tool for CNS/ATM functions. OLDISimSys, a test and monitoring system for OLDI communication. SDPS, a surveillance data processing system with sophisticated centralised multi sensor tracker. FDPS, a highly adaptable stand-alone flight plan data processing system to flexible fit into varying ATM environment. STCA, a short term conflict alert system developed in accordance with Eurocontrol s recommendations. TRAS, an automatic tool for analysis and evaluation of radar infra-structures and tracker systems. Experienced consultants are available for shorter or longer periods where services in the area of ATM are needed: Project managers with years of ATM experience. Senior software engineers with years of ATM experience. Software engineers with 3-5 years of ATM experience.

Some Customer Examples Moscow, Russia Moscow Air Traffic Control Centre is operating the TERCAS en-route, approach and tower system for Moscow FIR. Si ATM has a long record of upgrading and replacement of obsolete equipment in the TERCAS system. Lusaka, Zambia Zambia Air Services Training Institute offers training of Air Traffic Controllers for Zambia and neighbouring countries. Si ATM s high-fidelity ATC simulator is one tool in this important task. Manama, Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain is responsible for the provision of Air Navigation Services in Bahrain FIR, a busy airspace in the Gulf area covering Bahrain, Qatar and parts of Saudi Arabia with 1500 movements per day. The Flight Plan Data System, FDPS from Si ATM is one tool in this important task. Riga, Latvia Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme is the Latvian authority responsible for the provision of Air Navigation Services in Riga FIR. The ATC system including en-route, approach and tower control was delivered by Si ATM 1999 and is continually maintained by Si ATM with upgrades in conformity with the European Convergence and Implementation Plan, ECIP. Si ATM: A unique history Si ATM was established in 1981 and is located in Sundbyberg, Sweden close to Stockholm-Bromma Airport. It was founded by a number of people from the Swedish ATM industry who had extensive Air Traffic Control experience. This experience resulted from the participation in the development of the highly sophisticated ATCAS and TERCAS systems, which were produced in Sweden at the end of the 1970ss and subsequently installed in Sweden and Russia. Throughout our existence, we at Si ATM have systematically focused on activities in the ATM area. Initially, we primarily concentrated on ATM consultant projects, including upgrades and modernisations, working mainly for the Swedish CAA on our home market, as well as for other CAAs around the world. Having worked for a number of years with everything from ATM hardware to operator applications, we launched our own ATM system concept in Si ATM delivers advanced systems and simulators, ranging from single operator positions to nationwide solutions.
