3 BRAZILIAN AEROSPACE CLUSTER - OVERVIEW One core company : EMBRAER Over 90 suppliers The Brazilian aviation industry is the largest in the southern hemisphere - us$ 7.5 billion/year and jobs. Brazilian commercial aviation companies transport more than 109 million passengers/year on regular flights and 1,4 million tons/year of air cargo, performing 2,9 million operations in more than 140 airports, covering almost 900 regular routes. General aviation fleet is the largest in Latin America, composed of more than airplanes (700 commercial jets, agricultural airplanes crop dusters, 800 executive jets and helicopters), that operate in more than airports and more than 900 heliports in the Brazilian territory.
