IATA SAFETY & FLIGHT OPS CONFERENCE BARCELONA, SPAIN 2-4 APRIL 2019 AGENDA

Day 1 Tuesday, 2 April :00 09:10 Welcome and Formal Conference Opening Alexandre de Juniac, Director General, IATA (invited) 09:10 09:30 Welcome Keynote - Disruptors and IATA s Role Gilberto Lopez Meyer, Senior Vice President, Safety and Flight Operations, IATA 09:30 09:45 Welcome Keynote Stephen Creamer, Director Air Navigation Bureau, ICAO 09:45 10:00 Welcome Keynote Captain Andrés Bello, COO, Air Europa 10:00 10:30 Adapting to Disruptive Influences Alex Cruz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, British Airways 10:30 11:00 Networking Break 11:00 11:30 PANEL 11:30 12:30 Where is the Value of Actionable Intelligence in Airline Operations? Airlines already collect and hold a lot of operational data. And the increasing amount of automation in the aircraft is producing even more data. The challenge relates to sorting the information, raising its quality, analyzing it in real time and in a seamless manner to make decisions proactively as opposed to reactively. The value is in (a) integrating the data, not only within the operations space, but also with the commercial space, and (b) deploying predictive models to produce actionable intelligence that will reduce operating and investment costs, increase safety margins, and improve customer and employee relations. The Regulatory Response Today s aviation disruptors are game-changers. New technologies, new transportation models, and entrants to the civil aviation system are influencing our Industry at an incredible pace. Yet, the aviation Industry has a regulatory framework virtually unchanged for decades. The Regulatory response to the technologies and new business models will have a direct impact on how prepared we are as an Industry to not only survive but prosper in this new era of aviation. Dr. Nawal Taneja, Airline Business Strategist, and Executive-in-Residence, Fisher College of Business, Ohio State University Dr. Nawal Taneja, Airline Business Strategist, and Executive-in-Residence, Fisher College of Business, Ohio State University (moderator) Robert Carty, Deputy Executive Director, Flight Standards Service, FAA David Morgan, Chief Flight Operations and Safety Officer / Chef Pilot, Air New Zealand Joe Sultana, Director, Network Management, EUROCONTROL Jeff Poole, Director General, CANSO Claudio Trevisan, Head, Air Operations Department EASA

Day 1 Tuesday, 2 April :30 14:00 Networking Luncheon 14:00 14:30 14:30 17:00 18:00 19:30 Landmark Deal Shaping the Future of Engine Maintenance Last July, following 18 months of negotiation, IATA and CFM International announced a breakthrough agreement that promises to increase competition among parts and service providers in the aftermarket for engine maintenance. Jeff Shane, IATA s General Counsel, will describe the agreement, explain its significance, and spell out the opportunities it provides to operators, MRO shops, parts manufacturers, and lessors. Aircraft Automation - Friend or Foe? Automated systems in today s aircraft has allowed aviation to become incredibly safe, but are pilots becoming too reliant on it? Be part of the discussion as pilots, manufacturers and safety experts examine if automation complacency is a real safety risk, if the role between the pilot and the aircraft has shifted, and if so what changes are needed? Networking Reception Jeffrey Shane, General Counsel, IATA Human Factors at Play Dr. Kathy Abbott, Chief Scientific and Technical Advisor for Flight Deck Human Factors, FAA Rick Howell, General Manager, Group Safety and Operational Risk, Cathay Pacific Airways The Pilots Voice Captain Patrick Magisson, Executive Vice President Technical and Safety Standards, IFALPA Today s Automated Flight Deck Captain Malcolm Ridley, Lead Safety Test Pilot, Airbus Captain John Monks, Head of Aviation Safety, British Airways Safety Accidents Causal Factors Rudy Quevedo, Director Safety, IATA The Way Forward Panel Discussion

Day 2 Wednesday, 3 April 2019 PANEL 09:00 10:30 10:30 11:00 Cybersphere Threats & Risks Information is made of data, a fundamental building block in decision-making analysed through time. This is particularly poignant given modern aircraft are nothing short of flying data centres. Within 15 years there will be a doubling of passengers, operating within finite airspace in-conjunction with a growing environmental agenda. Therefore, the operation of IP-enabled aircraft is inevitable and essential if operators wish to gain the recognized efficiency and commercial benefits on offer. These electronic transformations translate to an increased probability of a cyber-event. Operators need to understand the threat vectors to aircraft and their associated systems to the risks at hand. The experts available to discuss cyber security are second-to-none in their knowledge of airline vulnerabilities from the flight deck to the enterprise and what needs to be done to minimize risk. Networking Break John Synnott, Manager, Flight Operations Information Technology, IATA (moderator) Risk Assessment Data / Information / Systems Doron Bergerbest-Eilon, Founder and CEO, ASERO Airline Vulnerabilities to Hacking Chris Roberts, Keynote, Chief Security Strategist for Attivo, Advisor for Cympire, Virsec, OverWatch ID and more 11:00 12:30 12:30 14:00 Smarter Traffic Management Is Technological Disruption in ATM a Necessity? With the accelerated growth of automation, robotics, UAS, and AI, are we about to see a transformation in air traffic management and its infrastructure? Will all these disruptors boost productivity and innovation speed in ATM? What will the future ATM system look like and how will it be able to manage all the traffic (existing and new airspace users)? This panel of industry and technology experts will discuss the opportunities that disruptors could unlock for traffic management. Networking Luncheon Carlos Cirilo, Acting Director ATM Infrastructure, IATA (moderator) Nadine Alameh, Ph.D., CEO, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Todd Donovan, VP Digital Aviation, Thales Simon Hocquard, Deputy DG, CANSO Geoff Hounsell, VP Flight ops Support, Emirates, member IATA Operations Council Jessie Mooberry, Head of Deployment UTM, Airbus

Day 3 Thursday, 4 April :00 09:20 09:20 10:30 10:30 11:00 True North vs. Magnetic North At the 13th ICAO Air Navigation Conference, WP/114 proposed adopting TRUE NORTH as the heading reference system for all air operations. This presentation will explore the opportunities, challenges and long term cost savings to aircraft operations while increasing instrument approach stability and availability through a reduction in ANSP complexity. Costly updates to magnetic variation tables in multiple aircraft systems, charting updates and airport runway renumbering could be eliminated The Impact of Climate Change on Aviation The aviation Industry has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce fuel burn and consequently carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, which has to date been extremely successful, however it is not enough. The global rise of temperature and sea levels are creating significant risks to aviation safety and operations. Join this discussion to deliberate what we as an Industry can expect as a result of climate change, how we can prepare, and what changes, if any, we can make to have a positive impact on this global crisis. Networking Break Anthony McKay, AVP, Air Traffic Services, NAV Canada Thomas Roetger, Assistant Director, Environment, Technology, IATA (moderator) Jonathon Counsell, Group Head of Sustainability, International Airlines Group (IAG) and IATA ENCOM Chair Ülkü Özeren, Environmental and Sustainability Director, Istanbul New Airport Andrew Watt, Head of Environment, EUROCONTROL Professor Paul Williams, Professor of Atmospheric Science, Reading University

Day 3 Thursday, 4 April :00 11:45 11:45 12:45 12:45 13:00 The Increasing Threat of Turbulence Research has shown that turbulence is projected to increase in intensity and severity in the coming years. Industry safety statistics are confirming this trend as airlines are seeing a steady rise in turbulence related injuries. What are the emerging strategies and tools to improve safety performance, reduce fuel burn and gain other operational efficiencies? This session will demonstrate the tangible benefits that are being derived by early adopter airlines implementing data-driven turbulence management. Lead & Retain Millennials & Generation Z in the Airline Industry: Proven Strategies to Enhance Performance and Engagement 62% of Generation Z (the post-millennial generation) anticipate challenges working with Baby Boomers and Generation X, and only 5% anticipate challenges working with Millennials. To ensure a cohesive cross-generational organization, aviation leaders need to understand and integrate Millennials and Generation Z. Millennials and Generation Z are the fastest growing demographic in the global workforce. While they bring valuable skills, insights, and ambition to the workplace, they are often a source of tension among experienced leaders. Ryan shares relevant data and innovative insights to better understand what drives Millennial and Gen Z employee performance. This program provides tactical strategies to dramatically improve the understanding, managing, retention, and engagement of the emerging generations. Closing Remarks and Venue Announcement 2020 Captain Brent King, Head, Flight Operations Efficiency, IATA (moderator) Captain Rich Terry, Managing Director of Line Operations, Delta Air Lines Richard Niland, Senior Flight Operations Engineer & EFB Administrator, Aer Lingus Katya Vashchankova, Head MET Program, IATA Professor Paul Williams, Professor of Atmospheric Science, Reading University Ryan Jenkins, Keynote Speaker, Author, and Inc.com Columnist Gilberto Lopez Meyer, Senior Vice President, Safety and Flight Operations, IATA
