In reply to youi letter Ref. No /126/ , we would like to inform you that we have not proceeded to official designation of our airlines, due to temporal character of operations as the agreed in the MOU signed on 24* of April and according to the practice followed by our side, as regards Russian air carrier's temporary operations, official designation is not deemed necessary. But, if you find it obligatory to officially designate airlines, even for temporary operations, we have no objection to forward these designations through diplomatic channels. Till receipt of these official letters - which have already been forwarded to our Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to be sent to your Authorities at the soonest possible - we axe kindly asking you to accept: Aegean Airlines to operate on the routes Thessaloniki-Yekaterinburg v.v., Thessaloniki-Nizhniy Novgorod v.v. and Thessaloniki-Perm v.v. and Astra Airlines on the routes Thessaloniki - Novosibirsk v.v., Thessaloniki-Omsk v.v., Thessaloniki-Tyumen v.v., Thessaloniki - Volgograd v.v., Thessaloniki- Sarn^a-aiKlTbessalomki-Ufa.

Papadimitropoulou, Civil Aviation Authority Governor Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Networks of the Hellenic Republic Athens Dear Mrs. Papdimitropoulou, Aeronautical Authorities of the Russian Federation present its compliments to the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority and You personally and refer to your letter No CAA/GOV/1797, dated June, 20, First of all we confirm that yesterday we received the letter of the Embassy of Greek Republic in Russian Federation concerning the provisional designation of two Greek carriers between Thessaloniki and nine points in Russia. At the same time, due to a very long period of our bilateral correspondence in order to clarify what Creek air carriers will be finally designated on each mentioned route, FATA approved on May 22, 2012 the Astra Airlines flight program for the whole Summer-2012 season. The sent to FATA only 09 June, 2012 Forms R of the second Greek carrier Aegean Airlines can not be confirmed due the Astra actual operations on the same routes. Taking into consideration that the flights could not be operated without the approval of Greek Civil Aviation Authorities Astra Airlines has already opened and continues its own sales and are actually operating flights from Thessaloniki to several points in Russia in accordance with FATA confirmation on May 22, Taking into account your position fixed in the last letters concerning the designation of Aegean Airlines on routes which are still serving and selling by Astra Airlines we should have a clear understanding about the passengers already booked on Astra Airlines flights till the end of the current IATA season.

3 With this regards we ask you to confirm and guarantee that in case if Aegean Airlines is designated on the above mentioned routes instead of Astra Airlines the already booked Astra's passengers will be carried out by the new designated Greek carrier.
