4 ITINERARY DAY 01 USA/EUROPE Depart this evening on an overnight flight to Europe. DAY 02 EUROPE/NAIROBI Connect with your flight to Nairobi, Kenya. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Nairobi, Kenya s capital is situated at an altitude of about 6,000 feet (1,830m) and means place of cool waters in the Maasai language. The Fairmont Norfolk is a traditional, luxury African hotel that still maintains its colonial charm while being only five minutes from the city center. The hotel has 168 luxurious guest rooms ranging from standard and deluxe rooms to four levels of suites with some of the rooms facing a central garden courtyard. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool, a fully equipped health club, and a choice of four dining venues including the popular Lord Delamere, a popular rendezvous spot since The Delamere Terrace and Bar has been patronized by almost all the first European pioneer settlers. 5 DAY 03 NAIROBI/AMBOSELI or CHYULU HILLS This morning you will transfer to the airport for your scheduled charter flight to Amboseli or Chyulu Hills. On arrival you will be met and driven to camp. Enjoy an afternoon game activity. *PLEASE NOTE* There is a luggage limit of 33lbs per person on the flight so please pre-pack your luggage accordingly in a soft-sided bag. Scheduled Charter flights times are estimates and may include multiple stops. Amboseli is one of the most popular parks in East Africa. With magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro in the background you may have an opportunity to photograph an elephant with the mountain as a backdrop. Elephants are often found in the lower forest and swamp areas and hippos in the pools, with a prolific bird life found in the surrounding swamp. Lion and cheetah are often seen on the salt flats and giraffe may be seen walking past doum palms. 6 OR Campi ya Kanzi is located on a 280,000-acre Maasai Group Ranch surrounded by Chyulu, Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks, and stretching to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. The landscape is quite varied from lush forests to riverine forest and savannah grasslands, as the altitude ranges from 3,000-6,900 feet. Wildlife includes elephant, lion, cheetah, lesser kudu, fringe-eared oryx, gerenuk and mountain reedbuck. Over 400 species of birds have been recorded. The camp has six spacious tented cottages and two suites each featuring luxurious linens, hand crafted furniture and en suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water and flush toilets. Each tent has a verandah with a view overlooking Tsavo Hills and Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. Activities at this family-run lodge include day and night game drives, escorted walks with the Maasai trackers, and Maasai cultural visits. 7 DAY 05 AMBOSELI or CHYULU HILLS/ARUSHA/TARANGIRE-LAKE MANYARA This morning you will be transferred to the Tanzania-Kenya border at Namanga where you will clear customs and change vehicles before proceeding to Arusha for lunch. Following lunch depart with your guide and continue to your tented camp situated within the Tarangire- Lake Manyara eco-system. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. The Tarangire-Lake Manyara eco-system is a region of dense bush as well as high grasses and old baobab trees. The land is hilly and dominated by the valley of the Tarangire River, which attracts migratory animals during the dry months between July-September. Game viewing during this time frame is quite exciting as the animals come to the river to drink. The ecosystem has a localized migration that is followed by most game (except lion which don t tend to abandon their territory). The animals disperse during April and May when there is reliable rainfall and rich vegetation. In June, the eland and oryx begin to return, followed by the elephant towards the end of the month. Zebra and wildebeest come together through July. By mid-august the animals are congregating around their last reliable water source, the Tarangire River. The calving season falls in the months of January-March taking advantage of the fresh grass during the rainy season. 8 OR Tarangire Safari Lodge is situated within the National Park and built on an escarpment overlooking the Tarangire River. The camp has tents and bungalows, a dining room, bar and a large swimming pool. Accommodation: Tarangire Safari Lodge (Full Board) DAY 06 TARANGIRE Depart this morning with a packed picnic lunch for a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is the third largest national park in Tanzania. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing all but the elephants feeding beneath them. During the dry season from June to November, animals concentrate along Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply. The area supports a great diversity of wildlife, including giraffe, buffalo, lesser kudu, eland, oryx and zebra. Lion, leopard and cheetahs are also present in the area. Up to 6,000 elephants inhabit Tarangire in the dry season. Accommodation: Maramboi Tented Camp or Tarangire Safari Lodge (Full Board) DAY 07 TARANGIRE/LAKE MANYARA/NGORONGORO Depart this morning with a packed picnic lunch to Lake Manyara for a game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is most famed for its tree-climbing lions that may be seen (if you are very lucky) sleeping amongst the branches of acacia trees. The park is situated in the Great Rift Valley where hippos abound along with the excellent bird life as well as elephant and baboon.

9 This afternoon drive through Mto wa Mbu village and continue on to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which was a pioneer experiment in reconciling the interests of wildlife animals and indigenous forests with the needs of the local Maasai tribe. The restaurant sources the majority of meat, fruit and dairy from their own vegetable garden and the local communities in the surrounding area.

Accommodations: Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge (Full Board) DAY 08 NGORONGORO This early morning depart to the Crater Rim and descend for a morning of game viewing on the crater floor. Enjoy a picnic on the crater floor. Return to your lodge late afternoon. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unflooded, intact caldera in the world. Known as the eighth wonder of the world, its vastness and beauty are truly overwhelming. Ngorongoro Crater itself is but a small portion of the 3,200-square-mile Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a World Heritage site that is characterized by a highland plateau with volcanic mountains as well as several craters, extensive savannah and forests. Altitudes range from 4,430 to 11,800 feet. Ngorongoro Crater is about 12 miles wide and its rim rises 1,200-1,600 feet off of its expansive 102-squaremile floor. The steep descent into the crater along winding roads takes minutes from the crater rim. The crater floor is predominantly grasslands (making game easy to spot) with two swamps fed by streams, and the Lerai Forest. The walls of the crater are lightly forested. Ngorongoro contains possibly the largest permanent concentration of wildlife in Africa, with an estimated average of 30,000 large mammals. In addition, this is one of the best reserves in Africa in which to see black rhino. Large concentrations of wildlife make Ngorongoro Crater their permanent home. Game viewing is good year-round. Because there is a permanent source of fresh water, there's no reason for much of the wildlife to migrate as they must do in the Serengeti. Accommodation: Kitela Lodge or Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge (Full Board) DAY 09 NGORONGORO/SERENGETI Your journey to Serengeti includes a visit to Oldupai Gorge, the famous archaeological site where the Leakey s discovered the remains of Australopithecus, Homo Habilis and Homo Erectus. Visit a remote Maasai village before continuing to the Serengeti.

11 Serengeti is derived from the Maasai language and appropriately means "endless plain." The park's 5,700 square miles makes it larger than the state of Connecticut. Altitude varies from 3,120 to 6,070 feet. As you enter the park gate you will take a game drive through the open plains. Nearly 500 species of birds and 35 species of large plains animals can be found in the Serengeti. The park may contain as many as 1.5 million wildebeest, 500,000 zebra, 300,000 Grant's gazelle, 250,000 Thomson's gazelle, 120,000 impala, 70,000 topi, 20,000 buffalo, 9,000 eland, 8,000 giraffe, 1,000 lion and 800 elephant. The huge herds of plains game such as wildebeest, zebra and antelope dominate the park while the attendant predators such as lion and cheetah are to be found amongst the many kopjes scattered across the plain. Leopard can often be found draped in the trees along the Seronera River. You will have full camp service with your home comforts. The tents are large, with en suite bathrooms, insect proof windows, comfortable single beds with fresh linens and duvets, private verandas. You will be brought your morning coffee before your morning game drives. Washbasins are placed outside the tents and filled with hot water to freshen up before you begin another day of adventure. Hurricane lamps are used for lighting. A day of game viewing usually consists of morning and afternoon game drives. On your return to the camp after a morning game drive you may have an excellent late breakfast or gourmet picnic lunch when you then may relax on the veranda of your luxurious tent. Afternoon tea and a further game drive is followed by iced cold drinks and a delicious dinner. All your meals are excellent and are taken in a separate dining tent. 12 OR The Serengeti Shared Safari Camp makes use of a traditional mobile tented camp on a shared-use basis, periodically moving location within the Serengeti according to Migration game movements and weather conditions. Although the camp will NOT move during your actual stay, the chances of being within reach of the wildebeest migration, which is one of the principle goals of any visit to the Serengeti, are greatly enhanced by this mobility. Approx locations: Dec to Mar the camp is situated in the southern plains. June-mid July it is located in central Serengeti and Aug-Nov in the northern Lobo region. The camp features ten luxury tents each with en suite bathroom with flush toilet, dual basin and shower, solar powered lighting, and a spacious verandah with chairs to relax and enjoy the view. The focus of the camp is a large dining tent with a shaded 'sitting out' area, bar and small reference library of African books with a variety of games. In the evening gather with other guests around the campfire to enjoy a predinner drink and share the day s adventures. As a guest at the Serengeti Shared Safari Camp you will meet up and mingle with each other during the evening over pre-dinner drinks and candlelit dinners, but during the day you will set off on your own, with your own private guide and vehicle. By having your own vehicle and guide you can ensure you can do what you want when you want to do it - be that following the wildebeest, sitting by a waterhole or just waiting too get that perfect photograph. Accommodation: Serengeti Shared Safari Camp (Full Board) OR Namiri Plains is located in the pristine eastern Serengeti known as Soit le Motonyi. Namiri means big cat in Swahili which is ideal as this area had been closed off the past 20 years as a cheetah sanctuary and now has the highest concentration of cheetah in East Africa. The area is also rich in other game as there is a permanent water source. Twice a year the migration of the wildebeest pass through this area on its migratory route. Namiri is the only camp in the region and the chances of seeing other vehicles is rare. The intimate features eight tents, including one honeymoon and one family tent, each with en suite bathroom and decorated with comfortable furnishings. The main lounge area is ideal for meeting new guests over cocktails followed by delicious cuisine. Activities include open-vehicle game drives, breakfast picnics on Soit Le Motonyi rock and sundowners on top of the kopjes. 13 DAY SERENGETI Enjoy two days of game-viewing on game drives in the park. Your days are very flexible where you can take a packed breakfast and leave at sunrise and return to camp for lunch. Or you can depart after breakfast and go for the whole day with a picnic lunch. Accommodation: Kati Kati Explorer Camp or Serengeti Shared Camp or Namiri Plains (Full Board) DAY 12 SERENGETI/MAASAI MARA This morning you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to the Maasai Mara (you land at Tarime where you will clear immigration and change planes). Board your connecting scheduled charter flight. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and driven to camp. *Please Note* there is a luggage limit of 33lbs (15kg) per person on the charter flight so please pre-pack your luggage accordingly in a soft-sided bag. Scheduled Charter flights times are estimates and may include multiple stops. The Maasai Mara is undoubtedly the finest wildlife area in Kenya. All of the big game is here: elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah and buffalo. Commonly seen species include zebra, wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle, Defassa waterbuck, eland and Maasai giraffe. This is the only place in Kenya where topi are common. Maasai Mara National Reserve, a northern extension of the Serengeti Plains (Tanzania), is located southwest of Nairobi and covers 590 square miles. Open plains, acacia woodlands and riverine forest along the banks on the Mara and Talek Rivers are home for many hippo, crocs and waterfowl.

14 As the park teems with resident wildlife, game viewing is good year-round. The migration is when great herds of wildebeest (1.4 million) and zebra (250,000) reside in the Mara, from approximately July to October. During the migration, prides of 40 or more lion may be seen. From the southern Serengeti a major portion of the migration moves northwest toward Lake Victoria, then north across the Mara River into Kenya in search of grass, usually returning to Tanzania in late October. The best time to witness large numbers of wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River is from mid/late July to mid/late September. This secluded spot offers tremendous views along the Sand River towards Tanzania and the Serengeti. During the migration of the wildebeest from early July to the end of October, Sala's Camp is ideally located to witness dramatic river crossings and the predators. Accommodations include seven glass-fronted en suite tents including honeymoon and family tents, each with hot showers and flush toilets. Expansive decking and private plunge pools are designed to be enjoyed between game drives. Electricity is solar powered and there is a standby generator to charge any equipment and camera batteries. 15 OR Naibor Camp is located within the Mara Game Reserve and has nine, tastefully decorated classic safari tents. This tented camp is located next to a perennial spring. All rooms have en suite bathroom, pull shower plus a large airy seating area and veranda. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives guided by professional guides within the reserve, unforgettable sundowners, visiting a Maasai village and bush walks are available outside the reserve. The experience of our Maasai guides plays an extremely important part in the experience. Optional balloon safaris and cultural visits to a nearby Maasai village can be arranged. Accommodation: Naibor Camp (Full Board) DAY MAASAI MARA Enjoy two full days of game viewing. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its outstanding wildlife, in particular the "Big Five". The African 'cats' living around camp include the leopard, cheetah, lion, civet and genet. The opportunity to see the enormous elephant, buffalo, rhino and hippo as well as an abundance of plains game such as the wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, a host of gazelles plus many more. The bird life is also extremely rich and varied. The wildebeest migration takes place between July and October, depending on when the rains appear. An optional balloon safari may be taken. (As the sun rises over the plains of Africa you will have a bird s eye view of the world below and the chance to see game from a completely different perspective. 16 DAY 15 MAASAI MARA/NAIROBI/EUROPE This morning you will transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where a dayroom has been reserved for you. This evening depart on your overnight international flight to Europe. The Lazizi Premiere is a luxury hotel located at Nairobi s International Airport. The hotel features 144 spacious rooms each with modern en suite bathroom, premium linens, air-conditioning, hair dryer and satellite television. 19 Trip Reports: Well...it has taken me a bit to find time to write you back about our trip, but what a trip it was!! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Africa, and can t thank you enough for the amazing organization. We were very impressed always having a guide to help us right from our touchdown in Nairobi until our departure two weeks later. Being in unfamiliar surroundings, it was so nice to have someone always there to show us the way. 1. Tortillis Accommodations were amazing, very clean, people very friendly, location was fabulous with the watering hole right out back (we enjoyed watching the animals coming for a drink, as we had our own drinks in the lounge). 2. Maramboi Tented Camp We loved the location of the camp amongst the animals, and especially the pool area with happy hour each day. Loved sitting watching the animals while sitting by the pool having drinks and appetizers before dinner. 3. Neptune Exploreans Now this was spectacular!! From the greeting from the owners/staff when we arrived, to the beautiful cottages we stayed in, to the fun loving staff, to the fabulous room service with appetizers and drinks delivered right to our balcony, to the jaw dropping views at the pool, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Neptune. Wish we could have stayed longer! This is probably the nicest resort we have ever stayed in! Food was excellent also. 4. Mara Explorer Camp This was an amazing place to stay on our last few nights of safari. Fabulous accommodations and people so friendly. We loved our guide, Vince, who was very accommodating to what we wanted to do on the game drives. We loved sleeping in our tent at night listening to the animals, from the hippos, chimps, and elephants to the bullfrogs. There was a big rain storm one night, and apparently the animals loved it! They all seemed to come to life that night playing in the rain. haha Another recommendation we would have to anyone going on a safari is to do the balloon safari! What an exciting experience that was! A definite must do! Thanks again for all of your help in the planning process, and the execution! It went seamlessly! All the best, Brian & Catherine Self
