We ll meet you and transfer you to the Lake Duluti Serena Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania. Once there, you can settle in and prepare for your first day of adventures. Day 2: Nature and Nurture Morning: Enjoy breakfast in your hotel and then a morning on your own. Relax poolside or explore the scenic Lake Manyara area by bicycle or canoe. Optional Experience: Up for your first adventure? Add an early morning flight over the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro. Afternoon: After your prepared lunch, we ll take you to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge. Head through the Maasai Steppe in a luxury coach and watch Lake Manyara come to life. You will fly to Arusha, Tanzania to start your vacation and will fly back home from London, England or Amsterdam, Netherlands. Would I need a Visa to travel to Tanzania? Yes, all visitors must have a passport valid for at least six months after the return date, and sufficient blank pages for visa and entry stamp. Contact the Tanzania embassy well in advance, as processing can take a few days to a few weeks. USA Passport holders can find out about the price and how to get a visa on the Embassy website. 5 Your Pre-cruise Africa and Europe Vacation FAQ What will my experience with the wildlife be like? You will have a guide with you throughout the entire trip. If you need anything, they will always be available. The wild animals you will encounter on safari are not like those found in theme parks - they are not tame. You must listen to the camp/lodge staff and guides. Safety precautions need to be taken seriously, and strictly adhered to. Observe animals silently and with a minimum of disturbance to their natural activities. Loud talking on game drives can frighten the animals away. Never attempt to attract an animal s attention. Don t imitate animal sounds, clap hands, pound the vehicle or throw objects. You should respect the driver-guide s judgment about proximity to lions, cheetahs and leopards. You should not insist that they take the vehicle closer so that you can get a better photograph. Is English spoken in Tanzania? The official national language is Swahili, though English is spoken throughout the country. What currency is used in Tanzania? The Tanzanian shilling is the currency used in Tanzania.
