1 What is new on the T4A GPS Maps Traveller s Africa T4A GPS Maps comes preloaded on a micro SD card with standard adapter, ready for Plug & Navigate. This SD card can be used on most map capable Garmin units and has been tested with latest Nuvi models as well. This product is not compatible to igo in car navigation systems, Android or ios devices. For these platforms we have separate products. The SD card also contains installation files for PC and Mac users who want to install the maps on their computers for trip planning or for transferring maps to older Garmin units such as the 276c, 76csx, previous generation etrex, etc. The map growth is organic in nature. We processed 533 data submissions for version These data submissions not only contribute more roads and POI s to the map, it also improves the quality of existing data by means of corrections. The overall road coverage has increased by 3.86% from Map Coverage km of roads, detailed tourist coverage and fully navigable (3.85% increase from 16.10) points of interest (1.28% up from 16.10)
2 Most complete and detailed protected areas (national parks, game reserves, private nature reserves etc.) in Africa parks in total accommodation listings (7% up from 16.10) camp sites, the most complete camping data base in Africa (1.11% up from 16.10) places to eat or drink (down 3% from 16.10, due to a clean-up of places that may have closed down) fuel stops (0.5% up from 16.10) Change log from selected data submissions We continued our improvements on city streets in South Africa with a focus on rectifying the huge addition of streets that was added in the previous two versions. Many street names are being corrected and we are also updating route numbers on main roads. We also addressed route calculation issues as reported by our users, most of which was associated with the large addition of city street data in South Africa. Our team continued their research in Western Africa to add major routes and towns and has increased the map coverage considerably in these regions. Tracks4Africa Updates Burkina Faso major routes and attractions added. Ivory Coast roads updated. Route names updated for South Africa e.g. M30, R300 etc South Africa: Parking and entrance roads around malls and shopping centres added for easier and more direct routing to POI s around them.
