Deer, peacocks, wild boar, bears and herds of wild elephants are just some of the creatures that live here. Yala is also known as one of the best places to spot the ever illusive Sri Lankan leopard and is also home to an amazing array of endemic birds. Explore this amazing realm in a jeep safari escorted by experienced and knowledgeable guides and trackers and see for yourself the amazing creatures that inhabit it. Udawalawe National Park The Udawalawe National Park, located approximately 200 km south-east of Colombo, is home to one of the largest herds of wild elephants in the country. This massive nature reserve is ideal observe the habits of these amazing creatures and learn more about their ways. It will not be uncommon for you to see herds of elephants roaming the grasslands or drinking at watering holes in udawalawe. You will travel with an experienced guide that will get you as close to them as safety will allow. Extreme care needs to be taken when approaching a wild elephant but it will still be an extremely fulfilling experience watching these beautiful and intelligent creatures.

Explore the street markets of Pettah that brings together the diverse colours and flavours of a multi ethnic and multi cultural society.
