Day 1: Arrival at Muscat and transfer to the hotel Arrive at the Muscat International Airport, meet & greet and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Day 2: Muscat Nakhl Rustaq Al Thowara Breakfast at the hotel and pick up at 8am. Drive to Barka to visit fish market and witness how local people barter fresh fish. Proceed to visit Rustaq and Nakhl. Rustaq fort (photo stop) is famous for its hot water springs, Ain Al Kisfa which are said to have medicinal value and in the olden days people used to travel far and wide just to take a healing dip in the waters and experience the nostalgia of days gone by. Photo stop at Al Hazm Fort in Rustaq. The fort is known far and wide for its beautiful gates which are adorned with verses from the Holy Koran and flower etchings. A picnic lunch box / lunch at local restaurant en route. The next stop is Nakhl which also has the highest fort in Oman, standing proudly on top of a hilltop. The fort is 350 years old and is set in a gorge, surrounded by a mountain enclave. The carved master gate is believed to date back to the 1830's during the reign of Sayyid Said bin Sultan. Proceed to the Al Thowara Oasis where one can witness the source of the natural springs. Estimated arrival time is approx pm. Overnight at Muscat. Estimated arrival time is approx pm. Overnight at Muscat. Day 3: Muscat Coastal Road Sur - Ras Al Jinz Breakfast at hotel and check out., pick up at 8am. Start your journey at the village of Quriyat, guarded by its 18 th century fort. Also see the Bimah Sinkhole, a natural hole in the round created by a collapsing mountain. The hole is filled with blue-green sea water. Proceed to Wadi Shab where beautiful clear pools of the wadi oasis are a serene and rewarding sight in the otherwise barren environment. After visiting the Wadi, proceed to the white beaches of Finns where a picnic lunch box will be served. Continue to Sur and visit the fishermen s harbor where you can witness the fishermen in action. Proceed on to the Dhow building yard. Dhows are traditional Omani wooden fisher boats that are even today, built by hand. Continue towards to Ras Al Hadd. The turtles can be seen late at night (9 to 11pm) and then again early in the morning (about 4am). Enjoy this natural phenomenon - an experience that is guaranteed to stay in your memory for a long time. Estimate arrival time is approx. 4.30pm, overnight at Ras Al Jinz.

2 Welcome to Oman Day 4: Ras Al Jinz Wadi Bani Khalid Wahiba - Muscat Breakfast at the hotel and check out, pick up at 8am. The first visit is Wadi Bani Khalid. The wadi has clear deep blue waters, where the shade of the palm trees is inviting for a relaxing siesta! Catch a glimpse of the pretty villages scattered all over Wadi Bani Khalid as they cling precariously to the slopes of the rugged mountain-side. Please bring along your swim-wear, the clear waters of the Wadi are very inviting! Also please note that light clothing and walking shoes may be more suitable on this trip. A picnic lunch box / lunch at local restaurant en route. Wahiba Sands is a vast mass of undulating red and white sand dunes rising up to 200 meters and stretching as far as the eye can see. It is also a host to a large variety of flora and fauna and ever-changing patterns of dunes which are a photographer s delight! Enjoy an exhilarating round of dune bashing in a4-wheel drive. The sands are the traditional homes of the nomads and the Bedouins, so it is common to see them moving through the desert with their camels. In the middle of the desert, stop to visit a Bedouin home. Estimate arrival time at Muscat is approx. 3.30pm. Overnight at Muscat. Day 5: Muscat City Tour and Departure Transfer Breakfast at the hotel and check out, pick up at 8am. The first stop on the Muscat City Tour is the Grand Mosque, a beautiful architectural piece of work. The Mosque was built over a period of 6 years. The main chandelier is made of pure Swarovski crystal and the carpet adorning the large prayer hall was woven by experts, made out of pure Persian silk. The Mosque exterior is constructed with quality Rajasthani Sandstone and the main halls as well as the smaller prayer rooms are adorned with the finest Italian Marble. The Mosque is surrounded by 5 minarets, each of which symbolizes the holy five vows taken by every devout Muslim to reinforce his faith in the Almighty. Ladies must be fully covered with a scarf and men in trousers. From the Mosque, proceed through the Embassy road (please note that it is forbidden to take photographs) to the old part of Muscat city: The Muttrah souk - a traditional Omani market. The souk offers a wide range of goods, especially typical Omani souvenirs like Frankincense, the Omani Dagger or Khanjar and beautiful silver handicrafts and Pashmina shawls. The guide will escort you on the stroll through the souk and assist wherever needed to obtain the best deal (bargaining is part of the daily trade here!). The next stop is the Bait Al Zubair Museum. The museum is a small townhouse that has been converted to display the old archaeological findings and Omani traditions such as national dress and jewelers. The Museum also has an interesting display of old pictures of Muscat before the renaissance that started with his Majesty the Sultan Qaboos s reign in From here we shall proceed to see the Sultan s Palace (video filming is prohibited) surrounded by the two Forts of Mirani and Jalali built by the Portuguese in the 16 th century during their rule of the coastal cities of Oman. Day 2: Muscat by Night City Tour Morning free at leisure. Pick up from the hotel at 4pm and drive to the Grand Mosque for a photo stop. The Mosque is beautiful by night, as it is illuminated from all sides with floor spotlights and the grandeur of its architectural genius truly comes alive. Proceed through the Embassy road (please note that it is forbidden to take photographs), which is likewise a lovely sight with the tress flanking the pavements on both sides and forming dancing shadows on the lovely Embassy buildings built like typical Arabic villas. From here you will drive to the Corniche. The Corniche is near the main Mina Al Sultan Qaboos port of Oman and the Muttrah souk. The souk offers a wide range of goods, especially typical Omani souvenirs like Frankincense, the Omani Dagger or Khanjar and beautiful silver handicrafts and Pashmina shawls. Day 4: Muscat Amouage Factory Bahla Jabreen - Nizwa Depart from Muscat and head to Nizwa region. Proceed to visit Amouage factory. Founded over a quarter of a century ago, Amouage is a niche luxury fragrance house that draws inspiration from its birthplace of the Sultanate of Oman, infusing reference points from a rich and colorful heritage that fires the imagination of all who come into contact with its wonderful products. We proceed on to the Jabreen castle (45 km from Nizwa), the finest of Oman s castles built during the late 17th century, which became a seat for Omani education and learning. The castle displays beautiful ceiling paintings and intricate wood carvings. Jabreen Fort was built by Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Ya'arubi in 1670 as a defensive stronghold and as living accommodation for the Imam. It has rooms and ceilings decorated with fine carvings. It has two huge towers with walls two meters thick, it was built by Bil'arab bin Sultan, an Imam of the Ya'aruba dynasty during the 17th century. It is one of the most impressive forts in the Sultanate and the details and carvings in the rooms and balconies are most elaborate. On the way back to Nizwa, halt the Bahla fort (photo stop), the oldest and first Omani fort to be built in the Islamic style. A picnic lunch box / lunch at local restaurant en route. Visit the Nizwa market and fort, which has been strategically built atop a hill overlooking the ancient village with its colorful domes and bustling market below. Spend some time in this traditional city and visit the interesting fort with the round tower and the museum and stroll thru the Souq. Nizwa Fort, built in 1668, is the biggest fort in the Arabian Peninsula and was once used as the Imam's headquarters and is a stronghold designed to withstand some of the most aggressive sieges. Overnight at Nizwa, estimated arrival time at the hotel is approx. 3.30pm. Day 5: Nizwa Al Hamra Misfat Al Abreen Bait Al Safah Muscat Breakfast at hotel and check out, pick up at 8am. Start your journey to the villages of Al Hamra and Misfah also known as Misfat Al Abreen. The village of Al Hamra boasts a set of ancient ruins and provides the viewers a beautiful panoramic photo stop from the top where the village is situated on a hillock. Misfah is a typical Omani village that gives guests an insight of how the locals used to live centuries ago. The houses are made of clay and mud in order to keep the interior cool even during the summer months. Misfah has a falaj system and green terraces which provides the population of Oasis dwellers abundant bounty in terms of fruits (mango, papaya, banana and dates) and vegetables in spite of the dry vegetation elsewhere. Visit Bait Al Safah Museum and have lunch. Bait Al Safa opens with folklore and traditional Omani dances followed by an exhibition of Omani traditional handicrafts reflecting the cultural variation of the Sultanate throughout its rich history. Discover the ancient Omani daily life including Qahwa (coffee) making, Omani traditional bread making, percolating of rose water, grain grinding, extraction of Alshoa, making of perfumes and frankincense, hand tailoring of Omani Kumma (men s head cover), palm industries, hand-made fans, butter extraction and dates and lemon drinks. Experience Al Barazah, the Omani gathering where people sit to exchange views and news, conducted in a traditional environment where Arabian coffee (Qahwa), Omani Halwa (sweets), Omani bread, dates Malook and other Omani traditional dishes are served and frankincense is released. Drive back to Muscat. Estimated arrival time is approx. 3pm. Day 6: Dolphin Watching and Snorkeling Breakfast at the hotel and pick up at 7 am / 9am. Dolphins in Oman are familiar sights - they will entice your attention through intelligent techniques. Oman is home to a variety of dolphins and whale species: the spinner and bottle nose dolphin being the most common. Almost all year round, dolphins can be found within close proximity of the coast. Of course since these are wild creatures in their natural habitat, it may sometimes be the case that no sightings can be. Double the pleasure of dolphin watching by combining it with a snorkeling trip. Coral beds provide homes to an exotic variety of fish that are a pleasure to behold. Afternoon at leisure. Day 7: Departure Check out of the hotel and transfer to Muscat International Airport for departure. 2

Stop at Wadi Bani Auf where the main attraction is the old houses nestled on the slopes of the mountain and this Wadi is also well known as the snake gorge because of the wide variety of desert snakes that live here. Precede to Bilad Sayt a village that is famous for its clay houses and the Oasis in which the village population lives. After this visit, enjoy the lunch at Jabel Shams resort - at the peak of the Hajar Mountain. Oman s Grand Canyon is situated amidst the rocky terrain of the Jabal Shams mountain which over 3,000 meters is high making it the highest mountain in Oman. The word Jabal Shams literally means Sun-Mountain in Arabic. The view from the top over the Grand Canyon is absolutely breathtaking. The Jabal Shams is the highest peak in the 700 km long Hajar mountain range. You might even be pleasantly surprised to see a few shepherds accompanying their grazing sheep! Experience an untamed and rugged countryside, a pristine world interrupted here and there by tiny settlements. Estimate arrival time is approx. 4pm, overnight at Jabel Shams. Walk through the narrow streets where little has changed over the last hundred years. Visit Al Hoota Cave, one of the most accessible caves in Oman. It is situated close to Al Hamra. The Hoota caves system was formed by the dissolution of limestone by acidic water. The caves appear in the cretaceous Natih formation. It is a breathtaking sight to see the stalagmite and stalactites in the caves a desert grotto experience. Lunch at AL Hoota Cave. From here, proceed on to the Jabreen castle, the finest of Oman s castles built during the late 17 th century, which became a seat for Omani education and learning. The castle displays beautiful ceiling paintings and intricate wood carvings. On the way to Nizwa stop in Bahla and Tanuf. Halt at the Bahla fort (photo stop) - the oldest and first Omani fort to be built in the Islamic style. Then proceed on to the Oasis of Tanuf springs (where the mineral water Tanuf is also bottled). Proceed to drive up to the Jabel Akhdar, or Green Mountain in Arabic (2800 M above sea level). The trip is in a 4-WD, up the precarious mountain side. A picnic lunch en route. From here any photographer would be proud to capture the breath-taking views of the ancient mountain range that forms large and small canyons as well as the beautiful terrace farming fields. The word Jabal Shams literally means Sun-Mountain in Arabic. The view from the top over the Grand Canyon is absolutely breathtaking. The Jabal Shams is the highest peak in the 700 km long Hajar mountain range. You might even be pleasantly surprised to see a few shepherds accompanying their grazing sheep! Experience an untamed and rugged countryside, a pristine world interrupted here and there by tiny settlements. Overnight at Jabel Shams. Day 3: Jabel Shams - Al Hamra Misfat Bait Al Safah Bahla Jabreen Nizwa Breakfast at hotel and check out, pick up at 8am. Start your journey to the villages of Al Hamra and Misfah also known as Misfat Al Abreen. The village of Al Hamra boasts a set of ancient ruins and provides the viewers a beautiful panoramic photo stop from the top where the village is situated on a hillock. Misfah is a typical Omani village that gives guests an insight of how the locals used to live centuries ago. The houses are made of clay and mud in order to keep the interior cool even during the summer months. Misfah has a falaj system and green terraces which provides the population of Oasis dwellers abundant bounty in terms of fruits (mango, papaya, banana and dates) and vegetables in spite of the dry vegetation elsewhere. Visit Bait Al Safah Museum: which opens with folklore and traditional Omani dances followed by an exhibition of Omani traditional handicrafts reflecting the cultural variation of the Sultanate throughout its rich history. Discover the ancient Omani daily life including Qahwa (coffee) making, Omani traditional bread, percolating of rose water, grain grinding, extraction of Alshoa, making of perfumes and frankincense, hand tailoring of Omani Kumma (men s head cover), palm industries, handmade fans, butter extraction and making of dates and lemon drinks. Experience Al Barazah, the Omani gathering where people sit to exchange views and news, conducted in a traditional environment where Arabian coffee (Qahwa), Omani Halwa (sweets), Omani bread, dates Malook and other Omani traditional dishes are served and frankincense is released. Lunch at Bait AL Safah museum. From here, proceed on to the Jabreen castle, the finest of Oman s castles built during the late 17 th century, which became a seat for Omani education and learning. The castle displays beautiful ceiling paintings and intricate wood carvings. On the way to Nizwa stop in Bahla and Tanuf. Halt at the Bahla fort - the oldest and first Omani fort to be built in the Islamic style. Then proceed on to the Oasis of Tanuf springs (where the mineral water Tanuf is also bottled). Tanuf village has ruined houses nestled in the mountain side and these houses were destroyed during the War of Al Jabal in Overnight at Nizwa. Day 4: Nizwa Market And Fort Birkat Al Mauz Jabel Akhdar Wahiba Sands Breakfast at the hotel and check out, pick up at 8am. Visit the Nizwa fort which has been strategically built atop a hill overlooking the ancient city with its colorful domes and bustling market below. Spend some time in this traditional city and visit the interesting fort with the round tower and the museum and stroll thru the Souq. Nizwa Fort, built by Imam Sultan bin Saif al Ya'arubi in 1668, is the biggest fort in the Arabian Peninsula and was once used as the Imam's headquarters and is a stronghold designed to withstand some of the most aggressive sieges. From there you continue to Birkat al Mauz. There is a full settlement of clay ruins (ancient houses) that are still partially inhabited and was once very famous for the banana plantations, now more so for the date plantations. Proceed to drive up to the Jabel Akhdar, or Green Mountain in Arabic (2800 M above sea level). The trip is in a 4-WD up the precarious mountain side. Lunch at Sahab hotel. Drive to Wahiba Sand via Sinaw & Mudaybi where you will see old mud houses (some still occupied) with a deserted souq in the center. Continue to Sinaw, passing numerous small enclosures made of palm fronds that nowadays house goats and sheep. Behind the wall is the Sinaw souq. The setting in the bare wilderness of the desert emphasizes the beauty of the virgin golden sand dunes surrounding the camp. Wahiba Sands is a vast mass of undulating red and white sand dunes rising up to 200 meters and stretching as far as the eye can see. Enjoy an exhilarating round of dune bashing in a 4-WD. The sands are the traditional homes of the nomads and the Bedouins, so it is common to see them moving through the desert with their camels. In the middle of the desert, stop to visit a Bedouin home. Camel ride optional. Overnight in a desert camp where you can enjoy a traditional Arabic meal, Omani coffee and dates. Day 5: Wahiba Wadi Bani Khalid Sur - Ras Al Jinz Breakfast at the camp and check out, pick up at 8am. In sharp contrast with desert is Wadi Bani Khalid, with clear deep blue waters, where the shades of the palm trees are inviting for a relaxing siesta! Catch a glimpse of the pretty villages scattered all over Wadi Bani Khalid as they cling precariously to the slopes of the rugged mountain-side. Please bring along your swimwear, the clear waters of the Wadi are very inviting! Light clothing and walking shoes may be more suitable on this trip. A picnic lunch box / lunch at local restaurant en route. In Sur visit the fishermen s harbor and witness the fishermen in action. Proceed on to the Dhow building yard. Check-in to hotel. After a refreshing shower and dinner assemble in the main lobby of the Carapace research Centre around 9pm where the rangers will divide you into groups of people. Proceed on a 15 min walk to the place where the green turtles nest on the calm beaches of Ras Al Jinz. The turtles can be seen late at night (9-11pm) and then again early in the morning (about 4am). Enjoy this natural phenomenon - an experience that is guaranteed to stay in your memory for a long time. Overnight at Ras Al Jinz. Day 6: Ras Al Jinz Coastal Road Muscat Breakfast at the hotel and check out, pick up at 8am. Start your journey back to Muscat. Continue via Qalhat where Bibi Miriam s tomb is located. Proceed to Wadi Shab where beautiful clear pools of the wadi oasis are a serene and rewarding sight in the otherwise barren environment. After visiting the Wadi proceed to the white beaches of Finns where a picnic lunch box will be served. Also see the Bimah Sinkhole, a natural hole in the round created by a collapsing mountain. The hole is filled with blue-green sea water. Finally we pass through the village of Quriyat, guarded by its 18 th century fort and return to Muscat. Estimated arrival time is 3pm. 18 Salalah Add-on Tour We welcome you to this country which offers diversity like no other. From it s burgeoning capital to the untouched coastline, mountains, deserts & wadis, we have something for everyone. This tour can be added-on to any other Oman tour and it takes you to one of the most beautiful and green cities of Oman - Salalah. Day 1: Arrival at Salalah and Afternoon City Tour Arrive at the Salalah Airport, meet & greet and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Pick up at 4pm from the hotel and proceed to visit The Museum of the Frankincense Land. Opened in July 2007 at Al Balid Archaeological Park, a UNESCO heritage site located in Salalah, the Frankincense Land Museum is the latest addition to Oman s heritage and cultural scene. It houses two main halls, namely the History Hall, depicting the geography, history of the ancient Frankincense trail and the historical background of the Sultanate through a number of archaeological findings, and The Marine Hall, featuring displays about the development of Oman s rich marine history. A complete history of the Maritime trade & ship building industry of Oman could be experienced here, with meticulously carved replicas of the ancient boats & ships of the Omani Maritime trade. Drive through lush green plantations of vegetables & fruits. Make a brief stop to taste a fresh coconut water drink at fruit stalls lining the streets within the periphery of the old Salalah town (Haffah). Make a photo stop at the impressive Sultan Qaboos Mosque. View the Official Palace of His Majesty the Sultan (Al Husn Palace) & stroll through the old Haffah souq, famous for the sale of high quality Frankincense & numerous other Dhofari traditional souvenirs. Visit the new Salalah region of the gold/ silver souq, with ample opportunity for shopping, before we return to the hotel at 7:30pm. Day 2: East West Salalah Tour Pick up at 8am from the hotel and visit the old fishing village of Taqah, famous for the manufacture of Dried Sardines & its traditional & old Dhofari Houses. Visit the century old Taqah Castle, the former official residence of the Wali (Governor) of the region & obtain a glimpse into the rich history of the region. Continue onto the ancient ruins of the once famous city of Sumharam (Khor Rohri). The city was the easternmost outpost of the Hadramawt Kingdom on the ancient incense route between the Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf and India. Khor Rori was an important port on the coast of Dhofar, and one of the major trading cities with frankincense, believed to have been the hub & harbor for the shipping of Frankincense (UNESCO World Heritage site). A picturesque drive then leads you to Mirbat, the ancient capital of Dhofar and the beginning of the Frankincense trail. A picnic lunch box / lunch at local restaurant en route. 19 Salalah Tour as a photo stop a classic example of medieval architecture. On our way back to western Salalah, explore the natural spring of Ayn Razat, beautifully laid out amidst the tranquil lush mountains & nourished every day of the year by natural underground spring water. Thereafter we proceed to Qara Mountains to explore the western part of Salalah. On a road steadily winding up a steep incline, herds of Camels & Cattle are a common sight which gives a scenic view of a traditional Dhofari rural beauty. Visit the ancient tomb of Prophet Job situated in the scenic green mountains of the Salalah Plains. Experience the legendary story of Prophet Job and his devoutness. Proceed to the beach of Mughsai where the white sand touches the deep blue of the ocean & at high tide, where waves burst through the natural titanic Blow Holes, at the far end of the Rocky beach with a cavelike entrance. We thereafter continue along the Hair-pin bend road towards Western Border of Oman, with its breath-taking cliffs on either side, to see the historical Frankincense trees growing in their natural habitat, deep down in the valleys. We take a short walk into the valleys to smell the Holy Incense amidst the scenic view of the region. On our return journey we make a photo stop at the lagoon at Mughsail where migratory birds occasionally flamingos are a common sight. Estimate arrival time is approx 3pm.
