2 Day 2: PARC NATIONAL DES VOLCANS and GORILLA TREK Take breakfast and report at 0730hrs to the Parc National des Volcans Headquarters in Kinigi office for registration, briefing and other formalities. Then drive on the brim of Parc National des Volcans depending on the group or family of gorilla that you will be allocated to trek. Thereafter go through the park for Gorilla trekking. The time taken to look out for the gorillas will vary with how close they will be and it is unpredictable because gorilla tracking takes place in their natural habitats. The gorilla safari here commences at about 2000 meters above sea level in the upmost slopes of the Volcanoes. ACCOMMODATION KINIGI GUEST HOUSE Locally branded as Village Touristique de Kinigi, Kinigi guest house is located at the brim of Sabyinyo Volcanic mountain in Kinigi district. It is only 11 Km from Ruhengeri town and it was was founded and is managed by Association de Solidarité des Femmes Rwandaises (ASOFERWA) an organization of orphans and widows. The profits produced from the guest house are used to look after women groups, orphans and needy people as well as local art and craft works of women and orphans. The guest house has over 20 rooms and on average it can accommodate over 40 people, with en suite showers which have hot and cold water. Kinigi guest house also has dormitories which can accommodate students or large groups of 16 and above on a small budget. These dorms have shared bathrooms, which have hot and cold water.
