3 YOUR ITINERARY Day 1: Overnight Flight to Ireland Board your overnight flight to Shannon! Day 2: Killarney Region Arrive in Shannon and Transfer to Killarney Transfer through County Kerry to the Killarney region, gateway to the Iveragh Peninsula. Enjoy the beautiful countryside in an area formed by glacial action following the last Ice Age. Day 3: Killarney Region Excursion to the Ring of Kerry Experience the mystical beauty of Ireland as you journey the 112 miles around the Iveragh Peninsula, better known as the Ring of Kerry. Encounter magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Lakes of Killarney, and Macgillycuddy's Reeks (the tallest mountains in Ireland) as you traverse one of Europe's most spectacular coastal routes. Visit the Bog Museum Learn more about the formation and farming of the local landscape and its importance to the local way of life as you stop along the Ring of Kerry close to Glenbeigh. The bogs, or peat as they are locally called, still provide one of the central sources of power in the region. The museum is a scaled recreation of an 18th century village, allowing clearer insight into local culture and tradition. See a Sheepdog Demonstration On your excursion to a farm in the Irish countryside, meet collies, witness a sheepdog demonstration, see how sheep are sheared and feed the lambs. Day 4: Killarney Region Dublin Transfer to Dublin via Blarney Castle and Kildare Visit Blarney Castle Today you'll visit Blarney Castle. To reach the legendary stone and to receive the "gift of the gab," you'll have to climb the steps of the castle, lean backward under the parapet wall and kiss the stone upside down. You'll also see the ancient ruins of the Rock of Cashel. Founded by a follower of St. Patrick, the rock was once a stronghold for Brian Boru and other Irish kings. Visit the Kildare National Stud Farm Next, you'll visit one of Ireland's most famous places when you stop to see the Kildare National Stud Farm. You will see where Ireland has bred some of the world's best race horses. Walk around the 958-acre grounds and see the steeds being groomed and exercised. Arrive in Dublin Arrive in literary Dublin, one-time home of James Joyce, George Bernard Shaw, Samuel Beckett, and W. B. Yeats! Dublin is also the setting for Joyce's Ulysses, one of the 20th century's greatest literary works. In recent years Dublin has also developed as one of Europe's busiest entertainment centers. Day 5: Dublin Guided Sightseeing of Dublin Begin your tour of the Irish capital by viewing some of Dublin's celebrated Georgian squares. From here you will visit St. Patrick's cathedral to see the beautiful interior. You will then head past the Post Office, site of the 1916 rebellion, before continuing along the banks of the River Liffey. Continue your visit in Phoenix Park which houses the residence of the President of Ireland. Your tour of Dublin concludes with a visit to the city's renowned Trinity College, established by Queen Elizabeth I in Here you will view the illuminated 8th century Book of Kells, written by Irish monks and found buried in the ground in Gaelic Games Gaelic music, dance and language have defined what it means to be Irish for millennia-but did you know about the rich (and prehistoric) history of Gaelic games? Unique, rugged and fiercely engaging, the traditional sports of Gaelic football and hurling are yours to play for a half day in Dublin. After a quick lesson behind the history of the games, you and your students will be out on the field wielding hurleys, hitting sliotars and soloing footballs with friends in your travel group. Day 6: Dublin Castlebar Region Transfer to Castlebar via Causey Farm Experience life on a traditional Irish farm during this lighthearted, hands-on excursion. Try your hand at making brown bread (and enjoy the results with fresh butter and jam), take a traditional Céili dancing lesson, learn how to play the Bodhran (a goatskin drum), gather sheep, cut a few sods of turf and discover the importance of bogs in Irish History on a tractor and trailer ride. Arrive in Castlebar Arrive in Castlebar, a small town located in County Mayo. Day 7: Castlebar Region Galway Region Visit Glen Keen Farm (pending confirmation) Stop by one of the largest farms in Ireland for an introduction to agricultural life in the northern part of the country. Meet some of the farm animals and learn about traditional turf cutting as you admire the beautiful mountain scenery surrounding the farm. Transfer to Galway Today Galway is the cultural and artistic capital of the west of Ireland-as well as one of the best places to hear traditional music. Originally known as a center for fishing, the industry still plays a part in everyday life here. Day 8: Galway Region Visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park Built in 1425, Ireland's best-restored medieval castle boasts stunning tapestries and furnishings showcasing the splendor of the medieval era. On the castle's grounds, you can stroll through the Folk Park, an authentic re-creation of a 19th century rural Irish village. Walking Tour of the Burren Take a tour of the Burren, an otherworldly expanse of rock and wildflowers that's known for the Ailwee Cave and the Neolithic Poulnabrone portal tomb. Fissured limestone pavement stretches before you like a massive jigsaw puzzle, with stubborn alpine shoots rising up between the cracks. You will also visit the Burren Visitor Centre.

4 Visit the Cliffs of Moher Visit the impressive Cliffs of Moher, towering an imperious 750 feet above the Atlantic. This region is considered to have some of the most haunting and stunning beauty in a country filled with natural wonders. Day 9: Depart for Home Transfer to the Shannon Airport for Your Return Flight Your Tour Director assists with your transfer to the airport, where you'll check in for your return flight home.
