11 Summary of Key Points There is a wide variety of eco-labels The more useful for SPP are: Regulatory/Mandatory PSIS, as all products have them ISO Type I Ecolabels and Type I-like VSS, as they are a good source of SPP specifications and serve also as means of proof Other types are less useful as they are not source of specific criteria and comparison between them is difficult if they don t follow the same framework Analyze key characteristics of each eco-label in Vietnam, referring to the following features of EU- Eco-labels: Level of obligation (Mandatory or voluntary) Type of information (information; rating; or leadership) Life-cycle coverage (Single or Multiple) Impact aspects (Single or Multiple) Sectors covered (Single or Multiple) Geographic scope (National, Regional or International) Verification (Auto-declaration or Third-party) Credibility 11
