1 ASCENT OF MONT-BLANC in 2 days The ascent of Mont-Blanc is a human adventure which requires a very good physical condition, some will and an appropriate supervision. Since 1864 the guides from Compagnie des Guides de Saint-Gervais have been leading their "travellers", customers or friends to the summit of that magical mountain which must not be underestimated and which must be come up with all humility. That is the reason why we do not lead to the summit any people without experience. The more prepared you will be, the more you will enjoy that unforgettable experience.

2 OUTLINE The previous day Appointment at 6.30 pm at the guides' office. Day 1 Day 2 Departure from Saint-Gervais in the morning where you will take "Tramway du Mont-Blanc" to Nid d Aigle (2,372 m). You will have lunch at Tête Rousse refuge (3,167 m) before getting to Goûter refuge (3,817 m). Near 5-hour walking for the first day. Difference in height of + 1,445 m. Departure at 3 am with headlamps to Aiguille du Goûter (3,863 m), Dômes (4,304 m) and then Arête des Bosses in the early hours of the morning. Arrival to the summit of Mont-Blanc (4,808 m) near 8 am. You will come back into the valley via the same route in the middle of the afternoon. Near 11-hour walking in total for the second day. Difference in height of m / - 2,436 m. The guides could be led to change the programme depending on the weather conditions, the mountains and the level of the participants DATES Every day from mid-june to September depending on the beds available and the conditions. SUPERVISION AND PARTICIPANTS 2 people per guide maximum. We don t sell group courses for the Mont-Blanc, you have to either come alone or with a friend or family member. You will be supervised by a mountain guide. TECHNICAL AND PHYSICAL LEVEL The Mont-Blanc experience with the guides of the Compagnie de Saint-Gervais allows us to go against the idea often spread: the Mont Blanc is easy. For those who have no experience, a first approach to mountaineering can be the mountaineering discovery course or a 2-day initiation to discover the high mountains, with this first experience you can either try the Mont Blanc in 2 days or do the Mont Blanc course in 6 days to beat the odds. If the guide has to turn around because of your level, no refund will be made. Basic training We advise you to intensify your sports sessions six months before. You will have to walk between 6 and 12 hours a day, so you must be prepared by practicing cardio sports during long sessions. Endurance sports: bike sessions, running, hiking on varied terrain. Do not forget that for 2 days you will walk with a 8/10-kilo rucksack, which will significantly increase the effort to be made, so during your outings gradually train yourself to walk with that additional weight.

3 You will progress on a high-altitude mountain route, so you must know the dangers linked to that activity (cracks, seracfalls, rockfalls, avalanches, very low temperatures). We might have to adjust the price due to changing prices of our partners. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT Made with the registration form, dated and signed and sent with a 30% deposit and the amount of the optional insurance policies. The balance shall be paid 30 days before the departure. Having repatriation help service coverage is compulsory to attend our trips. If you do not have repatriation help service coverage, we can offer you one.

4 APPOINTMENTS The appointment takes place the day before the departure at 6.30 pm at the guides' office. You can book a hotel room on the spot through us. In Saint-Gervais : The guides' office is in the tourist information centre of Saint Gervais in the centre of the village. In Contamines : The guides' office is in the city centre, next to the tourist information centre, in ESF premises. To get to Saint Gervais or to Contamines : Motorway A 40, exit 21. From the exit 21 : 6 km to Saint-Gervais, 18 km to Contamines. Saint-Gervais/ Le Fayet train station. 4 km from Saint-Gervais city centre, 13 km from Contamines city centre. Transports by taxi or bus are possible (to be booked upfront). Airports of Geneva (1h), Annecy-Methey (1h), Lyon Saint-Exupéry (2h). Shuttles and cabs are possible from the airports (upfront booking compulsory for the shuttles).

5 LIST OF THE EQUIPMENT Technical equipment: Helmet 35/40-litre rucksack Two telescopic walking poles with washers Harness with locking carabiner Ice axe Gaiters Mountain boots with stiff soles to put crampons Semi-automatic crampons equipped with anti-boots You can rent the technical equipment at: and for Saint Gervais, for Contamines. For the entire technical pack (helmet, ice axe, harness, boots and crampons) please count on about 25 per day. Clothing Upper body: Hat and headscarf or balaclava Modern fibre underwear, long and short sleeves Thick fleece jacket or down jacket for the bottom of the bag Thinner fleece jacket or down jacket Gore-Tex jacket (the ski anorak is not adapted) Lower body: Modern fibre tights Gore-Tex trousers Warm socks Essential equipment: Glacier glasses Ski mask Cap Headlight and batteries 2 pairs of gloves : a thin pair and a warm pair like mittens Sun cream and labial screen ultra-protection A sleeping bag liner for in the huts (no need for a sleeping bag) Crème solaire et écran labial très haute protection Thermos flask for tea (0.5 L minimum) and energy bars Small personal first-aid kit (pain medication, second skins) A pair of light walking shoes Do not hesitate to contact us if you need some advice for your physical training, the selection of your equipment or the organisation of your trip.
