Listen to the tales behind the numerous ship wrecks which attest to the treacherous nature of these waters. Come to know the Cape of Good Hope and take a tram to the top of the mountain. Enjoy a leisurely hike down before continuing on to Boulders Beach to see the penguins who call it home. Later this evening, make some new South African friends during a homehosted dinner. Alternatively, you may choose to stay in Stellenbosch and explore the winelands region independently or just relax in the beautiful setting. 5 Day 8: Saturday, February 23, 2019 Entabeni Conservancy Rise before the sun and set out on a game drive. Enjoy coffee and tea in the bush before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Later, learn to follow the clues left by wildlife during a track identification walk with a ranger. After you have worked up an appetite, take time for a leisurely lunch in the gardens. Late afternoon, continue your search for the Big Five during another exciting game drive. Keep an eye out for the big cats preparing to hunt. Return to the lodge for dinner under the stars. (B, L, D) Day 9: Sunday, February 24, 2019 Entabeni Conservancy - Johannesburg Carry on your quest for the "Big Five" before breakfast. Later, journey to the vibrant city of Johannesburg. Later you may enjoy a sundowner poolside and the spectacular African sunset while the animals gather at the watering hole. Travel with just 20 passengers on this Explorations tour where a smaller group setting means a more personalized vacation. We pride ourselves on bringing guests the very best experiences a destination offers. When traveling in Africa you will encounter full days of sightseeing, frequently in warm temperatures. In order to most fully experience the wildlife, you will be traveling by custom built safari vehicle which requires climbing in and out frequently and travel on bumpy roads. To experience Africa fully, we recommend that all guests be in reasonably good health and prepare properly. Unfortunately, wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on this trip. In addition, passengers who require assistance walking or who travel with oxygen tanks will not fully enjoy this trip and we strongly recommend a different tour. To truly experience the program and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and periods of standing. Some of the touring days may be longer, with select included activities occurring later in the evening. Each guest is responsible for proper documentation and inoculations that may be required and/or recommended to participate on this tour. Malaria pills are recommended when visiting Zimbabwe and Botswana. Consult your physician 2-3 weeks prior to departure. If you are traveling with children under the age of 18, South Africa requires that those children must have documented consent from both parents when traveling into or out of the Republic. It is the sole responsibility of the guest to procure the proper documentation to travel and many requirements vary by airline and destination. A mandatory tourism levy of $30 USD is required for all travelers upon arrival at the port of entry of Botswana. This levy can be paid by cash or credit card. Fees are subject to change. For guests transiting via Europe, an additional overnight flight will be required. Day rooms or overnight stays can be arranged for a cost upon request.
