3 Natural Resources: The Trails State Michigan has over 12,000 miles of trails. Some are multiple use trails. Michigan s trails include: 6,407 miles of snowmobile trails 3,627 miles of ORV trails 2,712 miles of rail-trail--the most in the nation. 1,190 miles are state managed
