1 Things you should know Thanks so much for choosing us. We are looking forward to your visit. In order to make your trip as smooth as possible, we ve outlined all the information you ll need to be prepared for your adventure. IMPORTANT REMINDER All the small stuff and fine print that is important to read is located on our Policies and Procedures page online: Please take time to read each tab of information carefully. Now, back to the matter at hand. This handy little packet includes info on: Waivers Weather What to pack Lodging Dining Directions Navigating property Meeting for your trip What else to do while you re here
2 Before You Leave Home Waivers Mission Critical - Group members under 18 coming without a parent or legal guardian MUST have a parent or legal guardian (legal being the key) sign their waiver before they leave home. Download waivers here. If the waiver is not signed by their parent or legal guardian, the minor will not be able to participate. Weather Be aware that ALL trips go, rain or shine, so make sure you double check the weather and pack accordingly. Really, it s impossible to stress this enough. But that won t keep us from trying. Note: if you are the group organizer - We appreciate the work you ve done in organizing your trip. To help things run smoothly, please make sure everyone in your group is getting this information so that everyone can concentrate on having fun. Lodging If you re staying with us, visit Lodging or Bunks, Cabins, RVs to see what s included with your lodging. FOOD Pre-book meals at ACE and save! What to Packi OVERNIGHT RAFTING For your overnight rafting adventure, ACE provides: Tent Transportation to and from river All rafting equipment (wetsuit and windbreaker are available for rent) Meals lunch and dinner on day one, breakfast and lunch on day two. This is a rural area, DO NOT rely on GPS alone! Consult a map or atlas when making final travel plans. Charleston Beckley Morgantown Oak Hill From US 19, take the Main St. Oak Hill exit, turn LEFT if you re coming from the North, RIGHT if from the South Make a quick LEFT onto Minden Rd. It will be 2.9 miles to the resort from this point. Continue through the community of Minden, following signs to ACE/NARR/Wildwater. (Please drive slowly through Minden. Watch for children and animals.) Turn LEFT at McKinney Rd. Turn RIGHT on Minden Ave, at the tall ACE/NARR/ Wildwater pole sign. 4 You ve Arrived! First Stop: The Welcome Center Stop here to get the skinny on everything you need to know. Lodging Check-In Whether you ve reserved a cabin or a chalet, a bunkhouse or a campsite, the Welcome Center is where you ll get more details. Our lodging books quickly, so in the event that you haven t already made a reservation and we cannot accommodate you, check out other area lodging. Dining If you haven t given a thought about food, we ve got you covered. From sandwiches to our full-spread buffet, we can fill your belly for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don t forget, if you pre-book your meals, you can save some money and dine in style. Departure Schedules All trip times are departure times. You should arrive ready for your trip 1 hour before the departure time for rafting, 1 1/2 hours for overnights, and 30 minutes for all other activities. These trips meet at the Big Top near the ACE Store: Rafting (Overnights and Day Trips) Team Challege Course ATVs Kayaking Mountain Biking Stand Up Paddleboarding Hiking Fishing Mud Obstacle Course Paintball Trips that meet elsewhere: Zip Line Tour - Climbing Barn near ACE entrance Rock Climbing - Climbing Barn near ACE entrance Horseback Riding - Meet off property; Provide your own transportation (directions available) or shuttle service provided for $10 per person from Welcome Center to stables (must be pre-arranged) - meet 30 min. prior to trip time. Bridgewalk - Meet off property; Provide your own transportation How not to miss your raft trip Complete a waiver before you arrive to speed up your trip check-in. If youth are coming without a parent/ or legal guardian, they need to download the waiver, have it signed, and bring it with them. Allow 45 additional minutes if you are having breakfast or lunch. Show up for your trip check-in dressed and ready to go.
5 Rest & Relaxation the Adventure park & lake* Dive into 5-acres of entertainment right in the heart of the resort. With a sandy white beach lining the spring-fed lake filled with toys, it s a great way to keep everyone in your group entertained before and after your river expedition, mud bogging and zip line tours. Full Day Rate: $39, Half Day Rate: $25 Receive the Resort Gold Pass for half-price when combined with any guided activity. Look for packages with the Pass included. You will be swimming at your own risk; however, a personal flotation device (PFD) is required when using the lake and is included with your Resort Gold Pass. Canoes & kayaks, volleyball, tether ball, ping pong, fishing, & hiking/biking trails. There is a minimum of one tower attendant on duty when the tower is open for the zip-line and water slide. Getting Around For those of you staying on-site, you can get almost anywhere you need on foot (see campus map). Or, if wheels are your thing, bring your bike or check out our bike rentals. When driving motorized vehicles around property, please remain under 15 mph and be on the watch for pedestrians and cyclists.
