1 Mardi Himal Trek - 12 Days The Mardi Himal trek is a newly opened eco-tourism, trekking trail that takes trekkers to the base camp of Mardi Himal offering an extraordinary view of the majestic Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu. It also offers opportunity to enjoy the blue glaciers of the Annapurna sanctuary. The location lies east of the Annapurna Base Camp in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This, off the beaten track takes you away from the busy trail through the forest of Rhododendron and Juniper and the pristine little settlements of Tamang and Gurung people, all the way up to the base of Mardi Himal. Camping every night, sleeping under the stars and the mighty Himalayas offer utmost adventure to the trekkers. 4,500m is the maximum altitude achieved during this trek. 12 days Mardi Himal trekking itinerary designed by Amigo Treks and Expedition also includes a full day guided tour to some of the major sites of the Kathmandu and Pokhara Valley. The package includes full board during the trek and bed and breakfast before and after the trek. Due to the unavailability of tea houses and lodges, the nights are spent in a tented camp during the trek. Cooks are hired to serve your choice breakfast, lunch and dinner. The trail passes through Pothana, Forest Camp, and High Camp and finally up to the base camp of the Mardi Himal, which then retraces the same path till the Low Camp, where the trail heads towards Sidhing Village. The food served for lunch and dinner are mostly Nepali and simply great. Though Nepal can be visited any time of the year, the best season to plan your trek to the base camp of Mardi Himal is spring and autumn. Spring Mid-March, April and May, perfect months to plan the Mardi Himal Trek. These months support us with warm weather, clear skies, good temperature and the best visibility.
