2 Leelanau Trail Stretching 15 miles along a former railroad corridor, the TART-owned Leelanau Trail connects Traverse City and Suttons Bay. The route takes users through rolling hills, forests, orchards and meadows and past streams, lakes ponds, and is the perfect setting for recreation, transportation and environmental education. There are three trailheads located off Cherry Bend Road, Fouch Road and 4th Street in Suttons Bay. As of June 2012, the Leelanau Trail is completely paved from Traverse City to Suttons Bay.

4 Urban TART Trail The 10.5 mile long TART Trail is a paved urban transportation corridor traversing from M-72 & Bates Rd in Acme Township to M-22/M-72 intersection in Traverse City. Boardman Lake Trail The heavily wooded, 2-mile trail is paved on the north mile while the south mile is crushed limestone and boardwalk. The vision for this trail is a pathway that encircles Boardman Lake. Mall Trail The nearly 2-mile long Mall Trail parallels US-31, connecting downtown Traverse City residents with many commercial businesses and restaurants. Three Mile Trail The 2-mile long trail goes along Three Mile Rd from the State Park beach on US 31 to South Airport Rd. Future plans include extending the trail to Hammond Rd. Buffalo Ridge Trail A proposed 2.7 mile trail connecting Division Street to South Airport Road. The trail will provide access to three schools, numerous natural areas, the Commons, Historic Barns Park, Great Wolf Lodge and the new YMCA. As of November 2011, the first half-mile phase is complete, connecting the Grand Traverse Commons to West Middle School along Franke Road.

The Vasa Pathway is used by cross-country skiers, runners, hikers, mountain bikers, walkers, and naturalists year round. The Vasa Pathway is accessible via the trailhead off of Bartlett Road. The scenic Pathway is groomed for both classic and skate-style cross-country skiing in the winter months. photo credit Joel R. Gaff, Jr.
