DAY 03 This morning you arrive in Kazan, old Tartar capital on banks of Volga. DAY 08 Travelling by local bus to a Siberian Village, you will n board a boat which takes you across Lake Baikal, largest fresh water lake in world. During two long photo stops on ancient tracks running parallel to shore you will have chance to capture beauty of lake and explore wonderful scenery. Take a moment to have a dip in lake or visit a picturesque Baikal village. If night is warm, your dinner will be served as a picnic on shores of spectacular lake before reboarding train. Lunch is served in a typical nomadic herdsmen settlement. Followed by a Mongolian horseback riding show. This evening you will re-board and will travel onwards to Chinese border. DAY 12 Early this morning train makes a scheduled stop in Gobi Desert. Around noon you will reach border town of Erlian. Due to different Chinese track gauge you disembark and board your Chinese train, which will be ready for departure. The Chinese train has no Nostalgic Comfort or Bolshoi carriages only two bed or four bed cabins are available on this 16 hour journey. Single occupancy is not guaranteed. DAY 13 Don t oversleep today as it s possibly some of most spectacular scenery of entire route, as you leave desert scenery behind and pass by mountains and rice paddy fields.
