Daily meetings give CITs a chance to share experiences, learn more about nature and agriculture, and build a community of supportive peers. Ongoing feedback from staff helps CITs find and develop their individual teaching and leadership styles as they write and teach creative new lessons. CAMP SPIRIT CITs also play an important role in our camp community, teaching campers games, crafts, and lessons, participating in All-Camp Gatherings, and leading the entire camp in songs, skits, and the ever-popular game, Predator/Prey. 19 How to Find Us Mass Audubon protects 37,000 acres of land throughout Massachusetts, saving birds and other wildlife, and making nature accessible to all. As Massachusetts largest nature conservation nonprofit, we welcome more than a half million visitors a year to our wildlife sanctuaries and 20 nature centers. From inspiring hilltop views to breathtaking coastal landscapes, serene woods, and working farms, we believe in protecting our state s natural treasures for wildlife and for all people a vision shared in 1896 by our founders, two extraordinary Boston women. Today, Mass Audubon is a nationally recognized environmental education leader, offering thousands of camp, school, and adult programs that get over 225,000 kids and adults outdoors every year. With more than 125,000 members and supporters, we advocate on Beacon Hill and beyond, and conduct conservation research to preserve the natural heritage of our beautiful state for today s and future generations. We welcome you to explore a nearby sanctuary, find inspiration, and get involved. Learn how at massaudubon.org. 20 208 South Great Road Lincoln, MA Printed on recycled paper with soy-based ink OUR CAMP GOAL is to establish a lifelong connection between campers and the land by providing positive experiences with nature and agriculture. Camp activities are carefully planned to meet this goal while creating meaningful and memorable experiences at the same time. At the heart of our camp program are three leading concepts: COMMUNITY: We strive to build a welcoming, supportive camp community in which campers feel free to try new things, make friends, and learn to respect one another and the diversity of their surroundings. INTERDEPENDENCE: We emphasize the interdependence of all living things. Campers learn about natural cycles and the interconnectedness of people, wildlife, and habitats. STEWARDSHIP: Through our emphasis on community and interdependence, campers learn to take responsibility for their world through sustainable farming and the conservation of wild open spaces.
