4 Gold Expedition Training Day 1 Outward journey to Glenridding. Evening Meal in a local bar/restaurant. Ascend to overnight camp at Angle tarn. (Staff camping nearby) Day 2 day one of Practice Expedition walk, with navigation training and, first aid scenarios, and moving on steep ground training in small groups accompanied by experienced staff. to wild camp at southern end on Haweswater (Mardale Head) Day 3, day two of Practice Expedition to Kentmere over Gatescar Pass. Groups operate independently with experienced staff monitoring.wild camp overnight.(staff nearby) Training 5 days in May/June Day 4. day three monitored walk back t0 Angle tarn with groups selecting route from two options. Route dictated by weather conditions and physical demands. Groups wild camp out unsupervised if conditions permit. Day 5 Groups strike camp and refturn to Glenridding. Return Journey Mini bus with a break at services for late breakfast/early lunch.

5 Gold Expedition and Venture Holiday French Pyrenees 31st July 14 th August Day 1 Travel to Issoire south of Clermont Ferrand. Overnight in Ace hotel. 4:30 am start. Day 2 travel on to base at Caudies de Fenoilledes via Millau Viaduct. (Sight seeing stop). Shop for catering supplies. Unload at the Mill, bunk house self catering bunk house accomodation. Day 3 familiarisation walk (accompanied) Expedition preparation and equipment checks. Day 4 travel to expedition area. 5:00 am. Groups follow day one chosen route monitored by staff. Overnight wild camp. Day 5 day two group monitored with staff camping in the area near by over night (wild camp) Day 6 day three groups accompanied on optional ascent of Pic Carlit if weather permits. Over night wild camp. Day 7 day four final expedition day. Return to base for celebration meal at local restaurant. Day 8 Relaxation day at Canne le Plage. Days 9 to 13 Venturous activity programme to include some of the following activities. White Water Rafting Sport Rock climbing Rock pool swimming Hydro speed (head first down rapids in heavy duty wet suits, buoyancy aids, and helmets using a small floatation raft). Via Ferratta. Steep rock face climbing on cemented in stemples (ladder rungs) and button plates while attached to wire cables by harness and dual shock links. Gorge walking descent with jumps and slides down a granite canyon. Sight seeing trip to Carcassone. All activities accompanied by experienced staff or qualified French Guides Days 14 to 15 return journey with overnight in hotel. P&O Ferry back to UK in the early afternnoon.

10 Recording all your Activities On Line Log in to the edofe site (you should soon receive an welcoming you to the Award Scheme) This will give you your unique id reference and the option to change your password. Your initial password will have been set as your date of birth eg ddmmyy with no spacing/forward slashes You will then have to set your time scales for each section in line with page 2 (these will have a default setting depending upon whether you have completed Silver or not). You will need to complete the boxes for (a). your Expedition Aim and (b) your Expedition Objective. Without this the Administrator will not be able to complete the approval process for your Award. From the drop down menus you can check on and choose your activity and submit it for approval by the administrator. Once you have approval you can begin to record evidence of the Activity. (A Diary, Photos, a signed log) all of which can be downloaded as evidence. In your Keeping Track Booklet Record in the Booklet the same details that appear on the edofe site e.g Category of Activity such as Music Actual activity like Playing an instrument Date of the start of the Activity (You may back date only one activity by up to two months from your registered start date). Add your own comments if you wish. On completion of the time scale get your Assessor as named in your online submission to make a comment and sign your Booklet. You may also provide additional evidence from your Assessor if you wish. PLEASE NOTE unless they hold some official such as England Sports Coach parents are not acceptable under the scheme guidelines as your Assessor Hand in your completed Booklet to the school Administrator for scanning, recording as Assessor Evidence, and Approval of your Award
