The spacious and light interior of the chalet has been recently refurbished and offers a fabulous blend of old farmhouse with contemporary furnishings. The chalet has fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding mountains including Mont Blanc and the Chaine du Fizz. Comfortably sleeping up to 16 people in 8 individually designed ensuite bedrooms, the seating and dining areas are equally generous. There are many more places to escape to if you wish to read a book, play table tennis or be pampered with a massage. This picturesque alpine town has a long established reputation as a premier ski resort and a particular favourite of the French upper class and European Royalty. Much of its success is attributed to the influence of the Rothschild family who recognised its undeniable beauty and potential. The family built one of the early hotels back in 1920 and continues to play a pivotal role in development of the resort. The heart of the town displays a thirteenth century village atmosphere with narrow cobbled streets limited to pedestrian access only. Colourful horsedrawn carriages wait here to taxi visitors around the town. Designer boutiques and French antique shops line the streets attracting visitors eager to browse and succumb to temptation. When it comes to dining out in Megeve, there s plenty of choice with wonderful examples of gourmet dining in the town and some highly regarded mountain restaurants too.
