7 Seacoast 5 7 Kington Seacoast Region Rochester Exeter The scenic New Hampshire coastline is rich with history and beauty. ith five state historic sites, five state beaches and the Rockingham Recreational Trail, visitors can explore a fort, relax on the beach or go for a bike ride. 8 ort Constitution Portsmouth entworth-coolidge Mansion 5 ort Stark 5 Odiorne Point allis Sands 1 1 1A Rye Harbor Jenness State Beach North Hampton State Beach 7 1 North Beach Hampton Beach 2 Kingston Main Street Kingston, NH Just 1 miles from the New Hampshire Seacoast, antiques shops and fine restaurants, Kingston is acres in size, and includes fireplaces, picnic areas, a playground, softball field, a sandy beach with swimming and three game areas for horseshoes and volleyball. The park accepts reservations for business parties, wedding receptions, children s groups and family functions. The beach at Kingston. Information on unnumbered parks can be found at the end of each regional section. 1 Hampton Beach Route 1A Hampton, NH Odiorne Point Route 1A Rye, NH Hampton Beach provides year-round recreation, with Atlantic oceanfront facilities situated along miles of sandy beach. The Seashell complex includes a bandshell amphitheater, public information services, comfort station and first aid. Activities in the park include swimming, fishing, picnicking and RV camping with full hook-ups at the campground. The Atlantic oceanfront at Hampton Beach. At Odiorne, picnickers can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean, and explorers can uncover evidence of our military past. Other activities in the park include boating, fishing, hiking, biking, nature walks and cross-country skiing. The Seacoast Science Center, located within the park, houses exhibits relating to the natural history of Odiorne and the seacoast area. (There is a separate admission fee for the Center.) 8 Seacoast 5 allis Sands Route 1A Rye, NH allis Sands State Beach offers oceanfront swimming, views of the Isles of Shoals, and a sandy beach that families especially enjoy. Beach amenities include a store that sells a variety of items, food, and drinks; and a large bathhouse with hot and cold showers. 75 Little Harbor Road Portsmouth, NH The entworth-coolidge Mansion is the former home of New Hampshire s first royal governor, Benning entworth, who served in office from 171 to The 0-room mansion is one of the most outstanding homes remaining of the Colonial era. Its stateliness and furnishings reflect aristocratic life in Portsmouth in the 1700s. RAISED IN ARNER, at the base of Mount Kearsarge and Rollins, Hampton Beach Patrol Chief Ed Parr has a strong appreciation for nature at work. Experience the sun and moon rise. Observe the power of the ocean at storm time. Sunbathe. Enjoy the park s concerts, fireworks, sand sculptures and the Seafood estival! The south end of the main beach because there's a view of pleasure craft and fishing fleet in Hampton Harbor. The Seashell Complex is the center of activity and focus of special events, entertainment and park services. 6 Bear Brook 157 Deerfield Road Allenstown, NH Bear Brook, with more than,000 acres, is located in the southeast region of the state. Miles of trails through the heavily forested park, leading to marshes, bogs, summits and ponds, offer options for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. 10 Merrimack Valley Merrimack Valley 7 Pawtuckaway 1 Mountain Road Nottingham, NH Route Silver Lake 2 Hollis, NH Pawtuckaway offers a variety of landscapes, with something to do and see for everyone. There are many opportunities for hiking, with trails leading to a fire tower; an extensive marsh, and a geologically unique field with large boulders called glacial erratics. The campground sites line the shore of beautiful Pawtuckaway Lake. Rock climbing at Pawtuckaway. Silver Lake spans 80 acres and its sandy 1,000- foot beach curves along -acre Silver Lake. Popular activities in the park include swimming, picnicking, and boating. Amenities include picnic tables, kayak and paddleboat rentals, flush toilets and a park store. Silver Lake's activities include swimming, picnicking and boating. 8 Robert rost arm historic site Route Derry, NH Hopkinton/Everett Riding The Robert rost arm was home to Robert rost and his family from rost, one of the nation s most acclaimed poets whose writings are said to be the epitome of New England, attributed many of his poems to memories from his Derry years. Enjoy a walk along the Hyla Brook Nature Trail. The HOPKINTON-EVERETT RECREATIONAL TRAILS AREA in Dunbarton and eare offers miles of trails with varying degrees of difficulty. MONADNOCK Rhododendron ranklin Pierce Homestead 1 Monadnock 1 Greenfield Operated by the Hillsborough Historical Society, the boyhood home of America s 1th president is a spacious and beautiful, federal-style country home. Built by Pierce s father in 180, it reflects the gracious and affluent living of the 1th century. The region offers six recreational trails with beautiful views of the area. Tucked away in this 00-acre park are ponds, bogs and a forest that extends to the shores of undeveloped Otter Lake. MONADNOCK STATE PARK is home to 0 miles of maintained foot trails, many of which lead to the bare rock summit. Mt. Monadnock is claimed to be the third most climbed mountain in the world. Miller Route 1E Peterborough, NH Located on the 2,20- foot summit and flank of Pack Monadnock in Peterborough, Miller was the first state park in New Hampshire. Three main hiking trails ascend Pack Monadnock to the summit. An operational fire tower, used for detecting fires, affords a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.
