They are requesting to hold a Backcountry Brewfest in Lakefront Park on July 29th 2017 from 5 pm to 10 pm. The point of this event is to raise funds for their 501c nonprofit. 2 Backcountry Brewfest July 29th 5PM - 10PM Lakefront Park - Hudson,WI The Backcountry Brewfest will be presented by the 501c3 nonprofit conservation organization Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA). The event will be staffed by volunteers from the Minnesota and Wisconsin Chapters of BHA. Objective: - The Backcountry Brewfest will be used to help bring awareness to the presence of BHA in the midwest and raise funds to support our conservation efforts. Locally our efforts have focused on protecting the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness watershed from proposed Sulfide-Ore Copper Mines. We also worked to oppose the sale of 10,000 acres of public land in Wisconsin among other issues affecting the public s access and ability to use public lands. We assist with hunter and angler recruitment and training through the state DNR offices and assist in maintaining and cleaning public lands. For more details on our mission and activities visit BackcountryHunters.org - Several Twin Cities and other area breweries view Hudson as an expansion market and are excited about the opportunity to showcase their craft beers to a new area. Because of the proximity to downtown and hundreds of people gathering it will also bring in new business for local businesses. - Event will be open to the public and anyone can enter the park and fenced in area. Servers will require bracelet that identifies them as over 21 and a ticket for any alcohol. Estimated attendance of people will provide major economic value for local shops and restaurants over and above those participating in the event. Plan: Ticket Sales - All tickets sales will be done at the event. Payment by cash or card using Square Reader. Staffing - Utilize BHA member volunteers to carry out the following tasks. Place fencing the Friday July 28th Review ID s and provide bracelets identifying those over 21 Sell beverage tickets and glasses Funds will be accepted as cash or card using Square Card Reader

3 Sell raffle tickets for various gear focused on outdoor use. (WI state raffle permit will be secured for the event.) Beer - Beer provided by BHA working with local breweries and distributors. BHA will secure a Class B Temporary Liquor License Initial purchase will provide a 7oz taster glass and ticket. Additional tickets will be available for purchase. Each ticket provides one fill of the taster glass. Glasses will be thick glass tasting glasses branded with the BHA logo as well as sponsor logos as a take-home branding and marketing item. All staff will require bracelet and ticket for a pour. All pouring staff will be licensed by the City of Hudson. Water and other non-alcoholic drinks will also be available for purchase Security - Security will be provided by volunteers who will be educated on proper techniques by police officers. Several of our volunteers are Police Officers in WI and MN. Food - Food will be provided by local restaurants at food booth along the north side of the park. All will have proper state and city certifications and licensure. Garbage - Cans provided near food service area and within beer serving area. They will be monitored by volunteers. Disposal service will be provide on-site dumpster/collection. Restrooms - Port-a-potties will be provided along the northwest side of the park by the band shell. Vomit & Diarrhea Policy - If vomiting and/or diarrhea occur at a Backcountry Hunters & Anglers event specific steps need to occur so that the contamination is handled carefully. It is important that protective gear including gloves and mask are worn during the cleanup process. 1. Carefully remove the vomit and/or diarrhea into a trash bag 2. Soak up any excess vomit and/or diarrhea with disposable cloths and dispose into trash bag 3. Make sure ALL vomit and/or diarrhea pieces are removed and disposed of 4. Clean and disinfect contaminated and surrounding areas a. Cleaning solution should be hot water and 0.5% bleach solution b. If the contaminated area is on a food surface the cleaning solution must be used followed by a clean-water rinse and a final wipe down with 200 ppm sanitizing bleach solution. Raffles/Booths - Booth space will be available for sponsoring organizations, outdoor gear companies and other nonprofit conservation groups. The booths will be placed along the south side of the park.

4 Music - Music will be played by a local band who will provide their own PA system and will play a 3-4 hour set interspersed with guest speakers and announcements. Marketing - Each Brewery will be helping promote the event through social media and marketing BHA will promote with various communications including targeted and social media sponsored posts Partner non-profits will help promote to their membership. Between Minnesota and Wisconsin BHA has over 500 members that will help market and promote the event.
