4 Social Activities Street Festival Quebec Style Welcome Dinner Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac Wednesday, July 19 Strolling the streets of Old Québec is like journeying back in time. This evening, as we say hello to old friends and meet new friends, musicians, acrobats and jugglers will greet DCA for our own street festival. Evening on own to explore the City after nightfall Manoir Montmorency Manoir Montmorency (Montmorency Manor) was the summer residence of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and father of Queen Victoria, perhaps the greatest of all British sovereigns. The house, build in 1781, sits outside Quebec City surrounded by the lovely old Montmorency Falls Park. We will enjoy a dinner on the grounds of the Manor overlooking the beautiful park and magnificent waterfalls. Closing Dinner at the Musée de la Civilization (Museum of Civilization) Saturday, July 22 As we bring to a close the DCA Mid Year Meeting, the RDV 2017 Tall Ship Regatta is ending as well. After dinner, we will walk to the shores of the St Lawrence River to view the spectacular fireworks display bidding farewell to the Tall Ship Regatta in Quebec City.

5 Quebec Optional Activities Walking Tour of Old Quebec City 1:00 4:00 pm Take a step back in time and visit the only walled city north of Mexico. This enclave of cobbled lanes and winding streets weaves together monuments, museums, churches, shops and outdoor cafes. See and feel the unique old world ambiance of Québec City. Old Québec will offer you pleasant surprises at every turn. The tour begins at the hotel and ends at Place Royale, the cradle of French civilization in North America, located in the lower part of Old Québec. This tour includes a ride in the funicular, an inclined cable railway that links Upper Town to Lower Town. After the walking tour, you will have time to explore the boutiques, restaurants and hidden charms of Old Québec. The tour will take place rain or shine. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes & light water repellant jacket Fee: $50.00 per person Visit of the Citadelle & Governors Residence 1:00 4:30 pm Citadelle of Québec is located atop Cap Diamant. It constitutes the eastern flank of Québec s fortifications. Inspired by it, romantic writers have called Québec the Gibraltar of America. In 1820, the construction of the Citadelle began and it lasted for more than 30 years. The star-shaped plan of the Citadelle is characteristic of Vauban fortifications. The continued presence of the Royal 22e Regiment at the Citadel since 1920 makes it the largest fortified group of buildings still occupied by troops in North America. The Governor General Residence is located in the heart of the Citadelle, overlooking the majestic St. Lawrence River. The structure has served as the second official home and workplace of Canada s governors general since The tour will take place rain or shine. Let yourself be enchanted by its beauty, its tradition and pastoral and seasonal rhythms. Leaving the heart of Québec City, you will be led on the beautiful and historic Island of Orleans where stops will be made to discover and taste local products. Vineyard hectares of land that lays on the shore of the St. Lawrence River. Cider factory a real pioneer in its field this cider factory grows apples and makes ice and sparkling ciders. The orchard is 6 hectares (3000 apple trees) in which is growing 10 apple varieties Cassis anyone? In the tradition established by their father, this black currant farm has been synonymous with passion and innovation since 1992 with products of the highest quality, including a Crème de Cassis. Bicycle Ride on the South Shore Saturday, July 22 1:00 pm 5:00 pm Discover the old city s history and the charms of the south shore of Québec while enjoying a smooth bicycle ride with an expert guide. Admire new point of views of the river. Get acquainted with its characteristics and its role in history. This beautiful healthy ride will start off in the Old Port of Québec, transfer to the shop by mini coach, where participants will get their bicycle attire before heading towards the ferryboat for a 15 minute river crossing. The rest of the activity will take place on the south shore offering a fabulous view of the city of Québec. Participants gender and height will be requested.
