4 YOUR ITINERARY The following itinerary is fixed by our Destination Managers. DAY 1-2 DAY 3 DAY 4-5 DAY 6-7 Depart the UK, arriving in Kathmandu. Settle into your accommodation and adjust to the time-zone and culture. Board your early morning flight to Lukla. On arrival, meet with your guide before setting off on the trail. Make your way to your first tea house accommodation in Phakding (2,652m). Today you will have your first views of Everest. Leave Phakding and trek to Namche Bazaar (3,445m), the Sherpa s administrative centre for the Khumbu District. Spend the following day undertaking acclimatising day treks form Namche Bazaar, as well as enjoy the many cafes and restaurants. Make your way out of Namche Bazaar to join the main trail to Thyangboche, along the way you will have fantastic views of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse before you reach the village of Thyagnboche (3,865m). Spend the following day in Thyangbouche or undertaking a day walk from the village to assist with acclimatisation. DAY 8-10 Make your way along the trail past several small villages including Pangboche (3,901m), before continuing to Dingboche (4,360m). Spend the next few days undertaking treks from Dingboche, including trekking to Chukhung (4,740m). DAY DAY 13 Leaving Dingboche you will climb the ridge behind the village to gain the higher plain, passing many memorials and prayer flags at the crest. Continue to the village of Lobuche (4,935m). Leave Lobuche and make your way to your overnight stop of Gorak Shep (5,180m). Continue trekking to Kala Pattar (5,623m), the most popular viewpoint for Mount Everest, before returning to Gorak Shep. Today you will reach Everest Base Camp (5,300m). Leave Gorak Shep early and make your way to the camp. After spending a while at the camp, return to Gorak Shep and back to Lobuche. Due to the changing nature of the world over the build up period, Outlook may be required to change aspects of, or the order of the itinerary. Outlook will consult with the Link Teacher/Group Leader and all participants if this is the case. DAY 14 DAY Spend three days making the return trek first to Pangboche and then to Namche Bazaar. Your final day will take you back to Lukla from where you would have begun your trek 2 weeks ago. DAY Take an early flight back to Kathmandu. Enjoy a group meal out on the town to celebrate the end of your expedition. DAY Depart Kathmandu and arrive in the UK for your homecoming. 5 ADVENTURE These are the key things around which your expedition will be built. Follow in the footsteps of the world s greatest adventurers and trek through the spectacular Khumbu region of the Himalaya to Everest Base Camp. You will fly to Lukla to begin the trail, ascending through forests of rhododendron and passing the Sherpa villages of Namche Bazaar and Thyangboche where you will meet local Nepali people. Trek alongside the Dudi Kosi River, crossing many exciting swing bridges as you meander your way higher and higher. You will eventually emerge from the tree line surrounded by snow capped peaks! Due to the high altitude of your trek, the group will make very careful ascents, camp at progressively higher altitudes and take any necessary rest days to aid acclimatisation. Once the team feels ready there will be a steady climb to the summit of Kala Pattar (5500m), offering stunning 360º views of the surrounding wilderness. Continue on your trek towards Everest Base Camp, reaching and following the snout of the Khumbu Glacier. The closer you get to Everest the more imposing the massif becomes, an awe-inspiring sight gleaming high into the atmosphere. During rest points along the trek, you will have the opportunity to interact with the locals, experience the culture and learn about their way of life. Back down in Kathmandu indulge in the sights and sounds of this vibrant city; visit the Monkey Temple (an ancient Buddhist complex), the Tibetan Monastery, and the many shrines and markets which make this such a rich cultural melting pot.

Personal belongings insurance (this may be covered by your household / contents insurance). Loss of passport. Cancellation insurance (contact our Customer Service Team for more information).
