1 Poland - Gdansk, Malbork and Masurian Lake District Bike Tour 2019 Self-Guided 10 days/9 nights Warmia and Masuria - land of thousand lakes, unique water system, lakes, connected by numerous canals. Numerous monuments telling about the region s past, such as the Wolf's Lair - Hitler s HQ in Beautiful ship cruise along Elbląg Canal, Europe s largest medieval fortress in Malbork, renowned Old Town in Gdańsk. This region offers not only cultural experience, but also unspoiled nature to admire.

2 Itinerary Day to Day Day 1: Bicycle free Individual arrival to your hotel in Gdansk. After the meeting a guided tour of the Old Town is scheduled. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel in Gdansk. Day 2: The mightiest medieval castle of Europe By bike 55 km, by train 1 hour After breakfast, you take the train to Malbork. There you tour Europe s biggest medieval fortress the capital of the Teutonic Order. In the afternoon your first bicycle trip to Elbląg begins (beautiful landscape along the way). Dinner and accommodation in a hotel in Elbląg. Day 3: Vistula Lagoon and Frombork 40 km Today you will cycle to Frombork - the town of Nicolaus Copernicus. We recommend the tour of the Cathedral (optional). On your way you will be able to take a first look on the Vistula Lagoon. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel in Frombork. Day 4: The cycle tour on former railway line 50 km After breakfast you have free time. About noon start the bicycle trip to Braniewo (18 km) and then you will take a train to Orneta. From there you cycle to Lidzbark Warmiński. The next day you can tour the castle of the Warmian bishops (optional). Dinner and accommodation in a hotel in Lidzbark Warmiński. Day 5: The rattling storks in Masuria 72 km In the morning you cycle to Kętrzyn. You will pass many picturesque villages where the silence is interrupted only by the stork rattling. On the way you can tour Święta Lipka (optional), an important pilgrim church built in the 17 th century. It is possible to shorten this day's bicycle trip (optional). Dinner and accommodation in a hotel in Kętrzyn.

3 Day 6: On the way to Gizycko 60 km Today you ride through to Wilkasy, in the Giżycko area. On your way, in Gierłoż, you can tour the famous "Wolf's lair" Adolf Hitler s headquarters during World War II (optional). Dinner and accommodation in a boarding house in Wilkasy. Day 7: Summer residence of Masuria bike free Today you have a choice: you can have a beautiful bicycle trip (50 km) around the Masurian lakes or you have the day to yourself. Dinner and accommodation as on day six. Day 8: Mikolajki Venice of the North km To avoid the crowded roads we recommend a beautiful cruise upon the Masurian lakes. The lakes are connected by numerous canals (optional the cruise to Mikołajki takes about 3 hours). In Mikołajki, a picturesque port, you will have enough free time to familiarize yourself with the city. After that you cycle to your hotel. Accommodation and dinner in a hotel in the Mikołajki area. By bike with cruise 10 km, or 50 km without the cruise. Day 9: The most beautiful paddling tour in Masuria 25 km Today s cycling program offers a bike trip through the Masurian Landscape Park to Krutyń. In the afternoon you can go paddling on the Krutynia River (optional). On this day we recommend to go on a hike at Mokre lake (10 km). Dinner and accommodation in a boarding house in Krutyń. Day 10: Goodbye to Masuria Transfer by local bus to Warsaw and a guided tour of the Old Town. The tour ends at 4 p.m. Individual departure.

4 Route Technical Characteristics: Route Profile: Easy to moderate. A variety of landscaping: slightly hilly (on the Elbląg Heights up to 200 meters, in Masuria up to 150 meters), gentle slopes.
