You will get acquainted with the complicated history of the Spitsbergen archipelago and learn a lot about polar explorers and scientists who are connected to the island s history. Photo by Sergey Dolya Accomodation at the trip 6 nights 1 nights Itinerary from rub The journey begins in Longyearbyen the administrative center and the capital of the Svalbard archipelago. It is the northernmost town and the airport in the world, where only about 2000 people live. We are ready to help with the purchase of tickets. If necessary, leave a comment in the order. Day 1 You will be met at the airport and moved to the Arctic Tourism Center in Longyearbyen for briefing. After lunch you will get the winter overalls and start snowmobiling to Barentsburg (about 70 km, 3-4 hours). Upon arrival to Barentsburg you will accomodate at the hotel and go on a sightseeing tour of the village. Visit the local Lore museum with the exhibitions, dedicated to the Pomor culture and the Arctic flora and fauna. Day 2 Today you will have the ring route starting from Barentsburg across Cape Starostina ( km, 8-10 hours depending on the weather). On the way you will cross the diverse terrain, enjoy the picturesque views and visit different places of interest. You will make a stop for lunch in the Isfjord Radio Cafe. Returned to Barentsburg you will visit the Art Arctic Gallery Museum. In addition to the main archaeological exhibition dedicated to Pomors and Spitsbergen researchers, you will get acquainted with the artists' works and other expositions, concerned with the Arctic. In the evening you will have dinner in the Red bear restaurant and brewery, taste the Northern beer and traditional cuisine. Day 3 Today you will go to one of two glaciers in Svalbard Paulabrin or Fritjofbrin (depending on the weather conditions). In calm weather and good visibility you will go into the depths of Van-Meyen fjord to the Paulabrin glacier. The route will take 8-10 hours, its length is about 200 km. You will pass through the vast

3 valleys, further move across the plateau of the Shlakbrin glacier, go down to the fjord, and then will reach the the Paulabrin glacier. Fritjofbrin glacier is located closer to Barentsburg. The road runs on an expressive and varied terrain and takes from 6 to 8 hours. The length of the route is from 100 to 140 km. You will return to the hotel Barentsburg by the evening, have dinner and relax. You will stop for lunch on the way and have dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening. Day 4 It is a spare day in case of bad weather. You will rest and prepare for a difficult snowmobiling trip to the Pyramid village. Also today you can make a unique excursion to the existing coal mine or visit the husky farm and arrange a dog sledding, participate in handicraft workshops in the Crafts center of Barentsburg or send postcards to friends and family from one of the northernmost post offices in the world. If you want to go for a ride, you can take an snowmobile route near Barentsburg. All these activities are paid additionally. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant. Day 5 After an early breakfast you will go out to the route: Barentsburg Kolsdalen Fardalen Longyearbyen Sassendalen Nordenskiöld glacier Petunia Bay Pyramid village. The length of the route is km, travel time is about 10 hours. You will stop for lunch in Longyearbyen or have a snack outdoors near the beautiful waterfall in Adventdalen. You will have arrived to the Pyramid village by the evening. It is a settlement, located at the foot of the pyramid-shaped mountain 900 meters high, which gave the name to the village. You will accomodate at the hotel, have dinner and relax. Day 6 Today you will have a sightseeing tour of the preserved Pyramid village. Whike snowmobiling in the vicinity of the village you could see all of the Arctic wildlife of Svalbard: arctic foxes, reindeers, marine mammals and the polar bear. Depending on weather conditions, you will go to the Scannskaya Bay, you will see Stolovaja mountain or the ice waterfall Abbadalen. You will have lunch on the route or in the Pyramid hotel's restaurant. During the day you will overcome on snowmobiles about 120 km. In the evening you will have dinner in the hotel restaurant

4 and visit the local post office, which is located almost 79 degrees North latitude. Day 7 You will go along the route Pyramid Nordenskiöld glacier Lomonosov plateau East coast Sassendalen Longyearbyen (about 190 km, 8 hours). The East coast of West Spitsbergen offers great views of the Arctic ocean. Also you could see the polar bears here. Upon arrival in Longyearbyen you will stay at the Russian house Hostel and have a dinner in the restaurant. Day 8 After breakfas you will walk around Longyearbyen, buy some souvenirs and if you want, you can visit the Svalbard museum (extra charge). Then you will have transfer to the airport. Accomodation at the trip The first four nights you will spend in double rooms of the Barentsburg Hotel. This is a four-storey brick building. Each room has a private bathroom, plasma TV and mini-fridge. Half of the rooms overlook to the Grenfjord Bay. The hotel has rooms for drying clothes and shoes. On the ground floor there is a bar, a restaurant and a post office where you can also buy souvenirs. On the fifth day you will move to the Pyramid Hotel, located at the same named village. You will spend two more nights here. The hotel is located in the former hotel of the mine. Like the whole village, it was conserved in 1998, when the the miners left the settlement. The hotel was opened in 2013, preserving the entourage of the soviet era. Some double rooms are combined in blocks. Each block has a large entrance hall, two double rooms and a toilet. Shower room is located on the ground floor. On the seventh day of the trip you will stay in Russian house Hostel. You will accomodate in the triple rooms with bunk beds. There are a spacious dining room with kitchen, two showers and three bathrooms at the hostel. From the panoramic windows you can see the whole Longyearbyen. FAQ What equipment is provided You will drive a Ski-doo or Lynx snowmobile. Meals You will have three meals a day in hotels, restaurants and on the route. Can I take part? Participation in the tour implies the ability to drive a snowmobile. We recommend this trip if you have the previous experience of snowmobiling or driving any other vehicles. At the same time, the route is made according to the principle «from simple to complex». Can children take part Children from 14 to 16 years old can participate as passengers. The cost is

What will the weather be like The climate of Svalbard is moderate and mild for the Arctic thaks to the warm Gulf stream, which is passed not far from the West Spitsbergen island and Isfjord. The average temperature is -19⁰С in March and -13⁰С in April. The long polar night ends by mid-february, and the polar day comes in early April. What should I bring with me?
