Ecolabels support environmental and climate targets Holistic approach Environment, working environment and quality Life Cycle perspective looks at total environmental impact None or few extra costs Ecolabels are documented and controlled Official Danish ecolabels and type 1 labels Ambitious and attainable requirements are set. The requirements are evaluated and sharpened regularly on basis of new knowledge and developments in the market.

13 The politicians decisions does not comprises the following areas: Ganteen operation The City of Copenhagen does not require its canteens to obtain a Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification We already has a very high usage of organic foods - now 87%, goal 90% We works in many of the same areas covered by the requirements for ecolabelled canteens e.g. days when meat is not served and focus on food waste

14 The politicians decisions does not comprises the following areas: We have adopted a special set of requirements for construction and civil engineering projects It is described in the publication Sustainability in in Construction and Civil Works We set criteria regarding the Nordic Swan Ecolabel in the following categories: Construction panels, Ceiling systems and Wall panels Floors and Floor coverings, Paint, Glue, Filler and Sealants.

15 1. main point in the new procurement policy for Ecolabelled products and services New tenders from the 1st november 2017: Demands for The Nordic Swan or the EU-Ecolabel within category 1 and 2 This covers agreements for The City of Copenhagen and SKI (the Central Public Purchasing Body in Denmark) If there is sufficient products on the market Ecolabels should be used as an award criteria in the tenders for the procurement categories 3 and 4

16 2. main point in the new procurement policy for Ecolabelled products and services Existing agreements: On present contracts and SKI framework agreements products from category 1 and 2 that are not ecolabelled will be replaced if there are a ecolabelled alternatives on the procurement agreement (..if they are not substantially more expensive) We go through all agreements

17 3. main point in the new procurement policy for Ecolabelled products and services Market engagement: 2-4 product areas pr. year Co-operation with Ecolabelling Denmark and SKI Toys (The City of Copenhagen tender) and office furnitures (SKI tender) The purpose with an effective and focused market engagement is: 1. To promote ecolabelled products 2. To uncover the market for ecolabelled products
